    Lawrence H. Schwalm, 65, of 32 N. Market St., Elizabethville, died Saturday at Polyclinic Medical Center, Harrisburg.
    Born in Spring Glen, he was a son of Margaret Klinger Schwalm Martz, Dalmatia, and the late John Schwalm.
    He was a custodian at Upper Dauphin Area School District.
    He was a life member of Elizabethville Fire Company, and a member of Elizabethville Fire Police and Erdman Sportsmen Association.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Ruby Starr; a son, Glen H., Lykens ; a stepdaughter, Rebecca J. Clark, RD Millersburg; his stepfather, Daniel Martz, Dalmatia ; a brother, LeRoy, Klingerstown; two sisters, Elsie Lentz, Herndon, and Norma, Dalmatia; three grandchildren and a great-grandson.
    Services were held this afternoon from Hoover Funeral Home, Elizabethville. Interment was in Riverview Memorial Cemetery, Halifax.

    Schwalm rites
    Services for Mildred E. Schwalm, 78, formerly of Star Route, Spring Glen, who died Friday morning at Rothermel's Personal Care Home, Hegins, were held this morning from Zion Lutheran Church, Lykens area. The Rev. Barry Ridge, Gratz, officiated. Interment was in the parish cemetery.
    Bom in Urban, Aug. 19, 1913, she was a daughter of the late Charles and May Shaffer Rothermel.
    Retired, she was employed by Blyler Fruit Farm and Quaker State Farms, both of Spring Glen.
    She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Gratz Area Senior Citizens.
    Her husband, Ira, died in 1983.
    Surviving are three sons, Paul, Valley View, Mark, Gratz, and Roy, Broad Channel N.Y; two brothers, Nevin Rothermel, Dornsife area, and Guy Rothermel, Winfield; a sister, Alma Klinger, Lykens area; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
    Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, was in charge of arrangements.

    Paul I. Schwalm, 81, of Valley View, passed away Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill E. Norwegian Street.
    He was born March 4, 1935, in Lykens Township, a son of the late Ira and Mildred Rothermel Schwalm.
    He was a graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
    Paul served in the Army Reserves.
    He was a tire technician for Klinger & Stehr, Valley View, until his retirement; after retiring, he worked for several years for Jesse Zerbe Refuse, Valley View, and for Buffington-Reed Funeral Home.
    He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, where he served as a church trustee, choir member and Communion steward.
    He was also a member of the Valley View Gun Club and the Hegins Valley Fire Rescue.
    Paul enjoyed hunting, spending time outdoors and attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
    Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, were his first wife, Nancy Harner Schwalm, and a step-grandson, Chase Witmer.
    He is survived by his wife, Lorraine M. Kessler Schwalm, to whom he was married for 22 year; four sons, Scott Schwalm and his companion, Gretchen Lentes, Dauphin, Dennis Schwalm and his wife Christine, Terry Schwalm and his wife, Amy, and Jason Schwalm and his wife Amanda, all of Hegins; three stepsons, David Witmer and his wife, Julie, Yorktown, Va., Robert Witmer and his wife, DeLana, Bedford, N.H., and Ronald Wiest and his wife, Kimberly, Midlothian, Va; a stepdaughter, Michele Pigott and her husband, Jeffery, Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; two brothers, Mark Schwalm, Spring Glen, and Roy Schwalm, New York; nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 221, Valley View, PA 17983. Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

    Ernest R. Heim, 79, of Dornsife, passed away on March 25, 2022, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Upper Mahanoy Twp on September 8, 1942, a son of the late Beula and Harlen R. Heim. Ernest was employed for 30 years at Bethlehem Steel in Steelton. He was a member of New Life EC Church, Herndon, Klingerstown Fire Company, Fiddlers Run, Erdman Sportsman's Association and the Mosquito Creek Sportsman's Club.
    Ernest is survived by his wife Sandra Heim, son, Glenn (Deborah) Heim; daughter, Linda (Gary) Lesher; brother, Clarence "Jack" Maurer; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers Lester Maurer and Raymond Heim, sister, June Maurer.
