    Born in Wiconisco, he was a son of the late Harry and Edna Polm Weist.
    He was a Navy veteran of World War II and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
    Mr. Weist was a letter carrier for the Williamstown Post Office and Williamstown tax collector for 12 years.
    He was a member of Williamstown American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6497 and Liberty Hose Company No. 1, both of Williamstown.
    He was a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Melba Walkinshaw; two daughters, Marcia Dissinger, Philadelphia, and Sharon Alvord, Williamstown; two brothers, Harry, Harrisburg, and Carl Wiest, New Cumberland; a sister, Geraldine Mione, Tower City.

    Harry Albert Weist, Jr.
    Harry Albert Weist, Jr., of Colonial Park, passed away on October 5, 2002, at the Polyclinic Hospital.
    He was born January 29, 1922, in Wiconisco, to Harry and Edna (Polm) Weist. His brothers and sisters were, Ben Polm of Williamstown, Barbara Wert of Millersburg, Geraldine Mione of Tower City and John (Bud) Weist of Williamstown. He is survived by his daughter, Diane of Philadelphia and his brother, Carl and his wife, Audrey, and by many devoted nieces and nephews and their children.
    He graduated from Wiconisco High School and served in the Navy during World War II, in Europe and Africa. He piloted a landing craft on D-Day, and told many stories of his experiences in Scotland and Italy during that time. His ship was sailing under the Golden Gate Bridge, headed for the far east on V-J day. He worked at the Indiantown Gap National Guard reservation for over 30 years, where he retired as an inspector in 1978.
    His wife, Norma Hunter of Wiconisco, predeceased him in October of 1995. They were married in Seattle, Washington and celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in May of 1995.
    He enjoyed jazz and country music, carpentry, sewing and figuring out how things work. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle, loving and openminded man.
    Memorial service will be 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 13, 2002, at the Colonial Park United Methodist Church, 430 Colonial Road, Colonial Park.
    The family requests a memorial gift, in lieu of flowers, to the ASPCA, 424 East 92nd Street, 4th Floor, New York, NY 10128.

    Carl L. Wiest, 83, of New Cumberland, PA, died on August 17, 2015, in Holy Spirit Hospital, surrounded by his family. Carl was a retired Millwright A at Bethlehem Steel, a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, and a member of Christian Life Assembly in Camp Hill, PA.
    Carl was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Edna Wiest; three brothers; and two sisters. Surviving are his wife of 62 wonderful years, Audrey; his son, Jeffrey Wiest of Etters, PA; his daughter, Gaye Staskiel of Clearwater Beach, FL; and his daughter, Joy Case of Mechanicsburg, PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Zachary, Karen, Jennifer, Heather, Lindsay, and Alex and four great-grandchildren: Sarai, Skai, Owen, and Londyn.
    Carl enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. He was an avid fisherman and the family handyman. Carl loved attending services at Christian Life Assembly. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife and reading a good book.
    Carl’s family will receive friends and family at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2015, in the Women’s Plaza (West Entrance) of Christian Life Assembly, 2645 Lisburn Road, Camp Hill, PA. Services will follow at 12 p.m. in the Women’s Plaza of the church. Burial with military honors will be in Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
