    Karen L. "Kay" Updegrave, 77, of Williamstown, passed away suddenly early Monday morning, May 9, 2022 at UPMC - Harrisburg.
    Born in Lykens, October 29, 1944, a daughter of the late Eli and Phyllis Uhler Gething. Kay was a 1962 graduate of the former Williamstown High School.
    She was a retired secretary from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
    Kay took great pride in the appearance of her home and her yard. She enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. Updegrave, 2011 and a sister Joanne Adams, 1991.
    Surviving are her daughter; Trisha A. Updegrave, Williamstown, a grandson, Michael T. Updegrave, Williamstown and one brother, Gary Gething and his wife Donna, California.
    Following Kay's wishes there will be no services.

    Richard H. Updegrave, 70, of South Street, Williamstown, passed away Tuesday evening at home.
    Born in Tower City, Feb. 23, 1940, he was a son of the late Harold and Ida Hand Updegrave.
    He was a graduate of the former Porter Tower High School.
    He was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
    Richard retired as a supervisor with the former AMP Inc.
    He was of the Protestant faith.
    Richard was a member of Williamstown American Legion and Liberty Hose Company No. 1, Williamstown.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Jean Lightbody and Lois Challenger.
    Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Karen L. Gething Updegrave; a daughter and grandson, Trisha A. Updegrave and Michael T. Updegrave, both of Williamstown; a brother, Dean Updegrave, Sheridan; a sister, Patsy Bordner, Elizabethtown; nieces and nephews.

    He was a retired Supervisor for PA Department of Transportation Equipment Division, Harrisburg, and was a former automotive mechanic. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Portland, a member of Williamstown United Methodist Church, Liberty Hose Co. No. 1, Williamstown, Williamstown Ambulance Assn., where he served as former Treasurer, and Williamstown American Legion Post 239.
    Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Lois Wagner and Phyllis Gething, and is survived by his wife of 66 years, Beatrice L. Chester Uhler; a daughter, Joy L. Uhler Taljan and her husband, James of Lower Swatara Twp; step brother, James Romberger and his wife, Charlotte of Williamstown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
    Committal Services with military honors will be held on Friday, June 21, 2013 at 2:30 pm in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville with Rev. Stevan Atanasoff, his Pastor, officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Wiedeman Funeral Home, Steelton.
    Bill's family would like to thank all the caregivers, physicians and staff at The Manor at Susquehanna Village for their love, care and concern for Bill during his stay there. You are all truly "angels".

    Funeral services of Lester N. Adams, 61, of 103 Fifth St., Williamstown, who died Friday morning in Pottsville Hospital, will be held Monday morning from the Stewart Dreisigacker Funeral Home, Tower City. The Rev. William T. Walton, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, will officiate. Interment will be made in the Greenview Cemetery, Tower City.
    Son of the late Frank and Susan Fetterhoff Adams, Tower City, in addition to his wife, the former Agnes Daniels, he is survived by three sons, Robert of Succasunna, N.
