    Born in Hershey on Oct. 7, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Helen M. Yeich Deppen Drake and the late Arvel Deppen Sr. She was retired from Hershey Foods Corp. and was a member of the Chocolate Workers Union Local 464.
    Surviving, in addition to her husband, are daughters Sharon A.     Services for Loraine D. Starr, of North Prince Street, Palmyra, were held Tuesday, May 20, 1997, at the First Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra. She was the wife of Michael Starr.
    The Rev. Timothy F. Christman, pastor of the church, officiated. Interment was in Gravel Hill Cemetery with Scott Kleinfelter, Dave Lightner, Larry Englebach, Dean Snyder, Dale Snyder and Kyle Deppen serving as pallbearers. Robert Dimeler and Harvey Yeich served as honorary pallbearers. Arrangements were handled by Buse Funeral Home, Palmyra.

    Hugh W. "Bud" Seavers, Jr., 85, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday January 3, 2019. He had been residing at Cedar Haven, Lebanon. He was the loving husband of Vara L. (Brandt) Seavers. They shared 50 years before her passing in 2001.
    Bud was born in Hershey on February 25, 1933, he was the son of the late Hugh W. Seavers, Sr., and Sarah (Sebolt) Seavers. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He retired from the VA Medical Center and MS Hershey Medical Center where he thrived on caring for others especially children. Bud was a lifetime member of Trinity UCC in Palmyra where he devoted his time and service wherever needed and headed various committees. His love of God and his family were the center of his life and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was extremely proud of his grandchildren and great granddaughters.
    Surviving is a daughter, Lori L. Seavers and husband, Denis Kettering of Annville, a granddaughter, Shannon and her husband Ryan Dougher, a grandson, Brycen Fisher, great granddaughters, Madison and Riley Dougher, and his siblings, Mary Lou Tracer of IN, Fran Kreiser of Palmyra, and Rachel Goudy of Palmyra. He was preceded in death by his sister Ruth Thomas.
    A funeral service will be held on Wednesday January 9, 2018 at 11AM from Kreamer Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 618 E. Main Street, Annville. Interment will be Gravel Hill Cemetery, Palmyra. There will be a viewing held from 10AM until 11AM at the funeral home.
