    SUNBURY -- Alvin G. "Bud" Lenig, 53, of RR2 Sunbury, died Sunday morning, May 7, 2000, at Sunbury Community Hospital.
    He, was born July 30, 1946, in Lower Augusta Township, a son of the late Francis and Cora (Smeltz) Lenig. He married the former Sharon Leitzel on July 6, 1968.
    He was a former member of the Army Reserves.
    Mr. Lenig was formerly self-employed as a contractor in the Sunbury area. He later was employed by Atlantic County in New Jersey, the Koch Trucking Company, Mifflinburg and K & T Excavating, Northumberland.
    He was a member of the Mandata American Legion, the Sunbury Veterans of Foreign Wars, a life member of the Rescue Hose Company, Sunbury, the Stonington Fire Company, the Lower Mahanoy Fire Company, the Keystone Fish and Game Association, the American Bikers, Aim To Educate and the American Association for Retired Persons.
    He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed riding with his many friends. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
    Mr. Lenig was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, RR3 Sunbury.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons and two daughters-in-law, Alvin G. Jr. and Sharon of Egg Harbor, N.J., David A. and Debbie of Shamokin, James L. of RR3 Sunbury and John D. of Sunbury; one daughter and son-in-law, Carol A. and Barry Cullen of Northfield, N.J; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; one sister, Leah Hunt of Myrtle Beach, S.C; and his dog. Dusty.
    He was preceded in death by one son, Douglas; two brothers, Marlin and Dallas; and one sister, Gertrude Martz.
    Visitors may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home Inc., 395 State St., Sunbury. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home by the Kev. James Leitzel.
    Burial will be in the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery, RR3 Sunbury.
    In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Peter's Lutheran Church Cemetery Association, in care of Charlotte Riland, RR3 Sunbury, Pa. 17801 or the American Heart Association, 1704 Warren Ave., Williamsport, Pa. 17701.
