    Paul T. Bast, 79, of 255 Parkway, Schuylkill Haven, died Tuesday morning at his home.
    He was born in Schuylkill Haven, a son of the late Thomas and Minnie Scholl Bast. He was a former resident of Cressona but resided in Schuylkill Haven most of his life.
    He was a retired employee of Parkway Box Co., Schuylkill Haven.
    Mr. Bast, in 1981, received the No. 1 All Time Sports Fan award, presented by Schuylkill Haven Area High School.
    He was a member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven.
    His wife, the former Hazel Klinger, died in 1962. Surviving are a daughter, June, wife of Edward LaPlante, Reno, Nev; a son, Richard, Las Vegas, Nev; a granddaughter; a brother, Mark, Schuylkill Haven area; two nieces.
    Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Detwiler and Stabingas Funeral Home, Schuylkill Haven. The Rev. Edward Lazarchick will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

    He was the owner and operator of Stump Sawmill, Pine Grove.

    He was preceded in death by four brothers, Ira, Charles, Harvey and Willis; three sisters, Ellen Stump, Cora Fen-stermacher and Mamie Rhen.
