    HERNDON — Alma J. "Peg" Bordner, 65, of RR1 Herndon died Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2001, at her home. She had been ill since August.
    She was born Jan. 13, 1935, in RR1 Herndon, a daughter of the late Albert Strohecker and Vinnie Alma (Klinger) Strohecker and stepdaughter of Erma (Shaffer) Strohecker. On Jan. 22, 1953, she was married to Ernest E. Bordner.
    She was educated in Mahanoy Joint High School, RR1 Herndon.
    Mrs. Bordner was a factory worker.
    She was last employed as a cook at Tina's Riverview Cafe, 12 North St., Millersburg.
    She enjoyed sewing, gardening and cooking.
    Mrs. Bordner was affiliated with David's United Church of Christ, RR1 Herndon.
    Surviving, in addition to her husband, are five daughters and four sons-in-law, Beverly A. and Roy Morgan of Star Route Rebuck, Debra E. and William Heim of RR1 Pitman, Lorraine M. Whary of Audubon, N.J., Tina M. and Harry Fetter of Millersburg and Jill A. and Andrew Reed of Halifax; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Ernest E. Bordner Jr. of RR1 Herndon, Tim L. and Angela Bordner of-Halifax, Chris A. and Tammy Bordner of Valley View and Brian K. and Connie Bordner of RR1 Lykens; 23 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Fae Wilkinson of Gratz, Mabel Thomas of Beavertown and Lucille Maurer of RRl Herndon; three brothers, Robert Strohecker of Old Zionsville, Albert Strohecker Jr. of Lewistown and Lawrence Strohecker of Halifax; five half-sisters, Arlene Brown of Klingerstown, Romaine Clough of Lykens, Patsy Kemble of RRl Herndon, Brenda Scheib of Pillow and Glenda Klinger of Millersburg; and five half-brothers, Marlin Klinger of Spring Glen, Gene Strohecker of RR1 Herndon, Dean Strohecker of Tower City, Kenneth Strohecker of RR1 Klingerstown and David

    She was preceded in death by one brother, Mark Strohecker.
    Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and noon to 1 Monday at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home by the Rev. George Heberling of RR1 Herndon.
    Burial will be in Trinity Evangelical Cemetery at County Line, RR1 Dalmatia.
    Memorial contributions may be made to David's United Church of Christ, Church Memorial Fund, RR1, Herndon, PA 17830.1

    McVEYTOWN -- Mark R. Strohecker, 59, of RR2 McVeytown, died at 7:20 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 1997, at his home, following a lengthy illness. He was born May 6, 1937, in Northumberland County, a son of the late Albert and Winnie (Klinger) Strohecker. He was married to the former Loretta Wilson. He retired on disability from Womelsdorf Trucking Co. Mr. Strohecker attended New Covenant Church, Lewistown. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters, Pamela Wright of Lewistown, Rhonda Miller of Reedsville and Marsha Arendt of Mechanicsburg; three sons, Mark A. of Burnham, and Jeffrey M. of Milrby and Shane C, at home; seven grandchildren; three brothers; four sisters; four stepbrothers; - four stepsisters. The service was conducted Tuesday at the Booth Funeral Home, McVeytown.
