    Robert D. Rumberger Sr., 79, of Tremont, passed away late Tuesday evening at Schuylkill Center, Pottsville.
    Born in Pottsville, he was a son of the late Clarence and Carrie Miller Rumberger.
    He was educated in Porter Tower schools and also attended the Williamson Trade School in Media. He was retired from the former Detroiter Plant and the Tamaqua Cable Co.
    He was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Miners-ville. He was a lifetime member of the Rainbow Hose Company Schuylkill Haven, and was active in the Boy and Cub Scouts. He was an Army veteran.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Clarence Jr.
    He is survived by his wife, the former Margaret Kostishak, to whom he was married for 55 years; three sons, Robert Jr., Friedensburg, Richard Sr. and his fiancee, Amber Fink, Pottsville, and Gary and his wife, Stacy Jo, Cass Township; three daughters, Margaret Gradwell and her husband, Joseph, Schuylkill Haven, Carrie Lee Brown and her husband, Steve, Schuylkill Haven, and Patricia Burns and her husband, Vaughn, Cressona; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
    Office of Christian Burial with Divine Liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Ss. Peter and Paul Byzantine Catholic Church, Minersville, with the Very Rev. Father Francis Twardzik, SDB, officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Relatives and friends can call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 7 to 9:30 a.m. Saturday morning with Panahida on Saturday at Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, Minersville. The family would prefer remembrances of Robert in the form of contributions to the family to help defray medical expenses. Contributions will be accepted at the funeral home.
