Driver Suffers Fatal Heart Attack, Crashes
Alvin R. Williard, 64, of RD Lykens, died Wednesday afternoon of an apparent heart attack while driving his car on Route 25 east of Gratz.
Police said Williard was driving west on Route 25, when he apparently suffered the attack. The car went out of control, ran off the road to the north side and traveled about 245 feet after leaving the highway. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in a field. The car was demolished, police said.
Mr. Williard was a son of the late Moses and Katie Sitlinger Williard. He was born at RD Lykens Feb. 1, 1912. He was a member of Erdman Sportsmen's Club, the Gratz and Valley View Fire Companies and Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman.
Surviving are his widow, the former Arlene Williard; a son Ronald, RD Klingerstown; five daughters, Mrs. Allen Shiro, Berrysburg; Mrs. Lynn Conrad, Valley View; Debra and Tammy, at home; Mrs. Kenneth Bixler, Reading; 16 grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Leon Straub, RD Lykens.
Services will be held Saturday afternoon from the James A. Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with Rev. Robert Eastlack of Klingerstown officiating. Interment will be, in Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

MOSES A. WILLIARD
Moses A, Williard, age 64 years, died at his home in Lykens Township, near Gratz, Thursday. He had been in ill health for some time.
Mr. Williard was a son of the late Jonathan and Myrah (Klinger) Williard and was a native of Lykens Township. He was a member of Klinger's Reformed Church at Erdman.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Kate Sitlinger Williard, one son, Alvin, of Klingerstown; a daughter, Martha Troutman of Erdman; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Harry Straub, Lykena R. D; Mrs. Catherine Minnich and Mrs. C. S. Buffington, of Gratz.
Services were held from the residence Sunday afternoon, with further services in Klinger's Church. The pastor, Rev. R. J. Harrity officiated and interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
