    Isaac Zittlinger
    Isaac Zittlinger of Gratz, a Civil War veteran, aged 75 years died at 6.30 a. m, Sept. 26th. He was a son of Geo. and Sarah Zittlinger born in Schuylkill County, Sept. 15, 1833. Baptized in infancy, confirmed May 8, 1863 as a member of Simeon's Lutheran church of Gratz by Rev. Wm. Haskill; married to Maria Shade, Oct. 3, 1852 by Rev. John A.Lisse Four sons and six daughters were born to them, two daughters preceding the parents to the spirit world. There are 29 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
    In March 1865 at Harrisburg Mr. Zittlinger had enlisted in Company G, 103rd Pa. Vol. and was mustered out of service at Roanoke Island, N. C. at the close of the war.
    The funeral on Wednesday was largely a, tended. Services were conducted by Rev. C. P. Wehr who was assisted in the church by Rev. Klick of Hegins.
