    Lewis Elmer Bixler, 81, of Valley View, who leaves 118 descendants, died on Thursday afternoon Rest Haven.
    Mr. Bixler. who was the father 10 children, seven of whom are living, was born at Hegins Twp. April 18, 1880, a son of the late John and Sarah Baum Bixler.
    A former miner and farmer, he been unable to work for the past eight years.
    His wife, the former Mary Jane Bainbridge, died in 1957.
    Surviving are these children: Mrs. Earl Koppenhaver and Albert, both of Hegins RD; Lester of Spring Glen, Mrs. Naomi Swartzlander and Mrs. Rayv Kroh, both of Tower City, Earl of Rock and Mrs. Paul Phillips of Williamstown; 50 grandchildren; 61 great-grandchildren; and a sister Mrs. Edgar Spotts of Valley View. Two sons and a daughter died previously.
    Funeral Monday afternoon from Evangelical United Brethren Church at Valley View. The Rev. C. R. Swartz will officiate at services. Interment in United Brethren Cemetery, Valley View. Buffington Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Bixler was born in Tower City on Oct 6, 1882, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bainbridge.
    Surviving are her husband, and the following , sons and daughters: Mrs. Earl Koppenhaver, Albert, Harry and Earl, all of Hegins R. D. 1; Lester of Spring Glen, Mrs. Paul Swartzlander of Donaldson, Mrs. Ray Kroh of Tower City, and Mrs. Paul Phillips of Williamstown; 46 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Charles Ney of Valley View and Mrs. Fred Starr of Llewellyn; and a half-sister, Mrs. Annie Kline of Philadelphia.
    Funeral Wednesday afternoon from United Brethren Church in Valley View. Interment will be made in the United Brethren Cemetery, Valley, View. The Rev, H. M. Mentzer will officiate. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
