    She was born Aug. 21, 1917, in Gratz, a daughter of the late Homer and Anetta Umholtz Coleman.
    She was a 1935 graduate of the former Hubley Township High School.
    Mary married Russell C. Koppenhaver on June 25, 1938.
    She worked as a welder in the Baltimore Shipyard during World War II. Mary and her husband owned and operated the former Koppy's Restaurant, Spring Glen. She retired from the former Muskin Shoe Co., Millersburg.
    She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Sacramento.
    Mary enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, camping and traveling.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell, in 1996; two sisters, Marcella Stutzman and Ruth Schwalm; a brother, Thomas Coleman; and a son-in-law, Terry Hoffman.
    Surviving are a daughter, Brenda L. Hoffman, Valley View; two granddaughters, Vicki L. Weber, Valley View, and Michelle L. Smith, Hegins; two great-grandsons, Brayden and Brody Smith; three great-granddaughters, Jennilyn Weber, Juliann Weber and Brielle Smith; two sisters, Marie Spotts, Carlisle, and Devona Lieberman, Doylestown; nieces and nephews, including a beloved nephew, Larry Spotts.
    Funeral services was held at Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Raymond Holland officiating. Interment was in St. Paul Cemetery, Sacramento.

    Born in Tremont, April 18, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Bertha Alspach Kimmel.
    She was a 1943 graduate of the former Tremont High School.
    She had been employed by the former Waldersdorff and the former Ben Franklin, Tremont. She had also worked at a sewing factory in Forestville and as a machinist during World War II in Carlisle.
    She was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Tremont, for 67 years, where she was a former Sunday school teacher and women's auxiliary member. She had been a member of the former Tremont Band, the Pottsville Hospital Women's Auxiliary and the pinochle card club. She was a former Brownie and Girl Scout leader.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard M. Koppenhaver, in 1990; a sister, Evelyn Long.
    Surviving are four daughters, Carol, wife of Richard Fessler, Tremont, Linda, wife of Roy Mowery, Huntingdon, Fay, wife of Daniel Steffie, Schuylkill Haven, and Joy, wife of Kerry Thompson, Donaldson; two brothers, Milton and Robert Kimmel, both of Tremont; seven grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two great-grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at noon Friday from Minnig-Berger Funeral Home, Tremont, with the Rev. Maureen Duffy-Guy officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of services Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in German Reformed Cemetery, Tremont. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter's UCC, 57 Spring St., Tremont, PA 17981.

    Private funeral services were held Sunday for Eugene Jackson Klinger, 13-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Klinger, of Hegins, who died Friday noon at his home of spinal meningitis. He was a member of the Hegins Lutheran Church and was a student in the eighth grade of the Hegins Township school.
    Surviving in addition to his parents are a sister, Eleanor, at home; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Grant Klinger, and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Katie Koppenhaver, all of Hegins.
    Services at the Miller funeral home, Valley View, in charge of Rev. Stephen Schullary of the Hegins Lutheran Church were followed by burial in Sacramento cemetery.

    John S. Klinger, 74, of 9314 Robnel Place, Vienna, Va., formerly of Hummelstown, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 1984, in Fairfax Hospital, Falls Church, Va. He was the husband of the late Dorothy Esterline Klinger who died Nov. 12, 1966.
    Born in Hegins, Schuylkill County, he was a son of the late Grant J. and Cora Neumeister Klinger. A retired truck driver for Helms Express, he had been an employee of the M.S. Hershey Medical Center. He was a member of the American Legion Post, Lawnton; a life member of the Mastersonville Gun Club, and a former member of the American Legion Post, Hummelstown.
    Surviving are a daughter, Janet M. Klinger, with whom he resided; sons Jack R., Lebanon, and Donald H., Hummelstown; sisters, Lavada Galligan and Esther Roby, both of Laveme, Calif; brothers, Timothy, Hegins FID 1, and Byrd, Gilberton ; 12 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, J. Robert Klinger.

    Andrew A. "Andy" Koppenhaver, 83, of Winchester, VA, died May 17, 2015 at Winchester Medical Center.
    Born in Hegins, on May 2 1932, he was a 1950 graduate from Hegins High School. After graduation, he worked as a coal miner before attending Penn State University and earning a degree in Electrical Engineering. He served in the Army Reserve and was called to active duty during the Berlin crises where he served as the executive officer of a signal corps radio relay company. He was discharged with the rank of Captain.
    After his military service he worked for General Dynamics in Rochester, NY working on Anti-Submarine Warfare equipment and Tactical Air Navigation systems. Later, he was employed by the ITT Electro-Physics labs in Maryland where he worked on over-the-horizon radars. From 1975 until his retirement in 1996 he worked for the Illinois Institute of Technology at the Electromagnetic Compatibility Analysis Center in Annapolis, MD as a Research Engineer working on military exercise compatibility, NASA launch compatibility, and the Next Generation Doppler Weather Radar (NEXRAD).
    He was a member of the American Legion Post 21 of Winchester, a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, and former member of the Godfrey Miller Home & Fellowship Center board. For seven years, he volunteered for Faith-in-Action transporting Winchester-area patients to dialysis and other medical appointments.
    Andy was an avid genealogist. Through the years, he amassed a database of information on over 2,000 family members and ancestors which became the basis for the publication The Life and American Ancestry of Andrew Alfred Koppenhaver.
    He was president of the Lutheran Student Association at Penn State, a teacher and former superintendent of Sunday school, and served on many church councils and committees.
    Surviving are his wife Joan (Huntzinger) Koppenhaver, of Winchester, VA; three sons, Andrew Koppenhaver of Littleton, CO, Mark Koppenhaver and wife Brenda of Shenandoah Junction, WV, and Tim Koppenhaver and wife Allison of Winchester, VA; and seven grandchildren: Benjamin and Rebecca Koppenhaver of Herndon, VA, Kristy, Kyle and Hunter Koppenhaver of Shenandoah Junction, WV and Brooke and Colleen Koppenhaver of Winchester, VA.
    The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on June 13 at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Winchester, VA. Visitation begins at 10 a.m.
    Burial will be in the Lutheran Memorial Garden of Mount Hebron Cemetery, Winchester VA.
    Contributions may be made in Andy's memory to the Godfrey Miller Home of Winchester or the Grace Lutheran Church Thanksgiving Memorial Fund.
