    Ruth Naomi Lemon
    August 19, 1927 ~ May 27, 2019 (age 91)
Ruth Naomi Lemon was born to Frank and Cora Wiest on August 19, 1927. Ruth had one older brother, Robert, and a younger brother, who died in childbirth. During their childhood and teen years, she and her brother lived in Pillow, PA, a small town in the mountains north of Harrisburg. Ruth went to Pillow High School. She later worked in the Pillow Shirt Factory, where she met Sara Lemon, who lived in the nearby town of Herndon. Sara introduced Ruth to her son Richard, a handsome young man who was in the Navy. Once back from the service, Richard and Ruth married February 24, 1951. They first lived in Harrisburg, PA, then close by in Lemoyne. Richard and Ruth had their first daughter, Connie Lou, born in 1954. They later moved to Pikesville, MD, in 1959. Shortly thereafter in late 1960, their second daughter, Amber Dawne, was born. In 1972, Richard, Ruth, and their daughters moved to their newly built house, located a few miles south of Sykesville, MD. Ruth loved this location, given her love of Creation, and the rural nature of the area at that time. After both daughters were older, Ruth worked at the Columbia Athletic Club nursery for close to 10 years. Richard and Ruth lived in their Sykesville home for close to 43 years, at which time (2015), Richard, the love of Ruth’s life, passed away—after being married for 64 years. For the next four years, Ruth lived with Connie—mostly staying at Connie’s house except for the times at the Sykesville home or during trips. Up until a few weeks before her death, Ruth remained sharp and spunky, in which she was able to recall specific dates and places of births, homesteads, and burials of both her and Richard’s family! Ruth passed away peacefully in her home, just a few weeks shy of when Richard passed four years earlier, and 3 months before her 92nd birthday. Ruth is survived by Connie, Amber and her husband, Daniel, and their son, Jeremiah and wife, Katherine.5
