    MOUNT CARMEL — SHAMOKIN - Clara Elizabeth Nahodil, 99, formerly of 51 N. Diamond St., Shamokin, went to be with the Lord at 2:04 a.m. Palm Sunday morning, March 29, 2015. She was a nursing home resident the past two years, and in ill health the past four years.
    Born in Augustaville, Aug. 1, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Bessie (Klinger) and Claude Emmanuel Broscious.
    On Aug. 6, 1936, she married the love of her life, Russell F. Nahodil Sr., who preceded her in death July 17, 1986.
    She worked in food service her entire life. She retired as a cafeteria manager for the Arrow Shirt Company as well as for Weller Vending.
    Clara was a longtime, faithful member of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church, serving as a devoted member of the choir and also as a sextant.
    She was a devoted wife and mother. Her sticky buns, peanut butter buns, cinnamon buns and homemade Easter eggs were famous and loved by all of her family and friends. She had a beautiful soprano singing voice and enjoyed embroidering. She faithfully started every day with the Scriptures.
    Surviving are four children, Roslyn Komara and her husband, Wayne, Jane Long, Russell Nahodil Jr. and his wife, Kim, and the Rev. Richard Nahodil and his wife, Beth; eight grandchildren, Lori, Melissa, Jean, Kimberly, Heather, Matthew, Russell III and Michael; six great-grandchildren, Amanda, Mitchell, Joshua, Morgan, David and Kamryn.
    Clara was preceded in death by two brothers, Arthur and George Broscious, as well as a daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Robert Shephard.

    NAHODIL — Clara Elizabeth Nahodil, 99, formerly of 51 N. Diamond St., Shamokin. Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday at the Farrow Funeral Home, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, with the Rev. Brian Bettsworth II officiating. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.
