    ELIZABETHVILLE — Clara Arlene Kahler, 84, of Shippen Dam Road, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Montour County.
    She was born Jan. 13, 1921, in Red Cross, Northumberland County, a daughter of the late William H. and Katie E. Hoffman Haas. Her husband, Earl D. Kahler, preceded her in death.
    Mrs. Kahler was a member of Peace United Church of Christ, Berrysburg.
    She enjoyed knitting and gardening.
    Surviving are one son, William E. Kahler of Elizabethville; one daughter, Lily L. Shade of Elizabethville; two grandsons, Todd and Jason Shade of Elizabethville; one granddaughter, Crystal Stianche of Elizabethville; one great-grandson, Brandon Shade of Elizabethville; one great-granddaughter, Katylin Shade of Elizabethville; and a brother, Bruce "Puss" Haas of Herndon.
    Preceding her in death, in addition to her husband, was a brother, Dr. Melvin E. Haas.
    Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hoover Funeral Homes Inc., Elizabethville, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Jeff Wagner.
    Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.
    The family requests donations be sent to Peace United Church of Christ, Second and Chestnut St., Berrysburg, PA 17005.

    She was born on August 1, 1943 in Red Cross, the daughter of the late Earl D. and Clara (Haas) Kahler.
    Lily was married to the late Larry A. Shade for 56 years.
    She worked along side her husband at their family farm doing many of the necessary daily operations.
    Lily was a member of Peace U.C.C, Berrysburg.
    She is survived by her daughter Crystal, son Todd, grandson Brandon and granddaughter Kaitlin, and her sister-in-law Cynthia.
    In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her son Jason and her brother William Kahler.
    A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sweitzer's Memorial Cemetery, Berrysburg.
    The family requests that memorial donations may be made to Peace UCC, 150 Chestnut St, Berrysburg, PA 17005.
