    Services for Charles E. Spade, 90, of RD Dornsife, who died at 4:15 Friday morning at Sunbury Community Hospital where he was a patient eight days, will be held Monday morning in St. Peter's Lutheran Church,Red Cross, RD Dornsife. The Revs. Glen Keidel, Dornsife, and Paul Billow, Rebuck, will officiate. Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
    Mr. Spade was born in Shamokin, Oct 24, 1884, son of the late Joseph and Sarah Beetle Spade. He was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Red Cross; Mahanoy Lodge Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Dornsife, and the Past Grands of
    Northumberland County.
    His first wife, the former Sallie Kobel, preceded him in death in 1938 and a son Earl, in 1962.
    He and the former Sadie E. Kahler, were married Dec 1, 1951 at Herndon.
    Surviving, in addition to his widow, are three children, Mrs. Elenore Erdman, RD Dornsife; Charles J. of Herndon; Malvin J. of Dornsife; four stepchildren, Earl Kahler, RD Elizabethville; Carl Kahler, Dalmatia; Arleah, wife of Arlo Erdman, Summerdale; Marlene, wife of Thomas Herrold, Herndon; 19 grandchildren; 15 greatgrandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Tamer Lehman of Peenville, N. J.

    Earl D. Kahler
    Earl D. Kahler, 63, of Elizabethville area, died Wednesday afternoon while working on the farm of his son-in-law, Larry Shade, Elizabethville area.
    He was born in Rebuck, April 3, 1921, a son of Sadie Erdman Kahler Spade, Herndon, and the late William Kahler.
    He retired as a plumber in 1984. He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 520, Harrisburg, for 18 years.
    Mr. Kahler was a World War II Army veteran.
    He was of the Protestant faith.
    He was married to the former Clara Haas at Rebuck on Dec. 25, 1942.
    Surviving, in addition to his mother and his wife, are a daughter, Lily, wife of Larry Shade, Elizabethville area; a son, William E., at home; three grandchildren; a brother, Carl, Dalmatia; two sisters, Marlene, wife of Thomas Herrold, Herndon, and Arleah, wife of Willard Erdman, Summerdale.
    Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown. The Rev. Michael Romig, United Church of Christ, Gratz, will officiate. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax. There will be no calling hours.

    Willard was born July 30, 1932 in Klingerstown, PA to the late Edna Mae and Whalen Erdman. Willard was an Army veteran serving with a company 185th Signal Battalion. In 1950, he graduated from Food Service School Camp Polk, Louisiana, cooking was Dutch's passion. He retired from TRW/Chromalloy in 1994, and also worked for the former McGarvey Sunco service station and Bruner's Service center of Enola.
    He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge Millersburg since 1986.
    He belonged to the Central Pennsylvania blood Bank.
    Dutch was a NASCAR enthusiast and enjoyed camping.
    Surviving is his wife Arleah, a daughter, Barbara Brightbill and her husband Randy, a sister, Linda Leitzel of Tower City, and a brother, Norwood Erdman of Dalmatia.
    Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 19, 2012 in the Richardson Funeral Home Inc., Enola. A viewing will be held from 12:00 Noon until time of services Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. www.pennlive.com/obits
