     Harry C. Haas was born on 8 August 1897, Schuylkill County, PA.2 He was the son of Simon P. Haas and Emma Seiler.2 Harry C. Haas married Helen Laurette Erdman, daughter of Ira Irvin Erdman and Mary Alta Boyer, on 6 June 1921.2 Harry C. Haas died on 1 April 1989, Friendly Nursing Home, RD1 Pitman, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 91.2

Harry C. "Baldy" Haas, 91, of RD1 Klingerstown, died Saturday evening in Friendly Nursing Home, RD1 Pitman, where he was a resident since Feb. 16.
Born at RD1 Klingerstown, Aug. 8 1897, he was a son of the late Simon P. and Emma Seiler Haas. He was educated in Upper Mahantongo Township schools.
Mr. Haas was a retired farmer and a former Pennsylvania Department of Transportation foreman for 30 years.
He was employed by Mandata Poultry Plant, RD1 Herndon, until retiring in 1981.
He served for 12 years as a school board member of former Upper Mahantongo school.
He was a fire warden for 65 years in Upper Mahantango Township area and was a Republican Committeeman in Upper Mahantango Township for 50 years.
Mr. Haas was a member of Salem United Church of Christ Church and Sunday school, RD1 Klingerstown, and served on the church consistory for many years. He was a member of Klingerstown Fire Company and Mahantango Fire Company, Pitman, Herndon Lodge 702, F&AM, and Harrisburg Consistory.
He was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
Surviving are his wife, the former Helen L. Erdman, who he married on June 6, 1921; two sons, Donald E. and Harry A. Jr., both of RD1 Klingerstown; three grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Lloyd, Harrisburg; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from Salem UCC, with the Rev. Bruce Dalious officiating. Interment will be in Salem UCC Cemetery, RD1 Klingerstown. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

Isaiah J. Klock, 56, of 453 Walnut street, a Pennsylvania Railroad carptenter, died in the Mary M. Packer hospital at 1:45 o'clock Monday p. m. after an illness of ten days.
The deceased had been in failing health the past two years but was aoout his daily duties until ten days ago when he suffered a stroke. He was under the ace of Dr. C. E. Phillips and was admitted to the hospital Monday noon.
He was born in Pillow, February 16, 1882, and entered the employ of the Pennsylvania Railroad Company May 2, 1916. He was employed on the Wilkes-Barre Division as a carpenter and was well known among fellow workers.
He leaves his wife and the following brothers and sisters: Daniel Klock, Dornsife; William and Minnie Klock, Dalmatia: Mrs. James Wagner, Herndon, and Joseph Klock, Sunbury.

DORNSIFE - William H. "Bill" Wolfe Jr., 65, of RR1 Dornsife passed away Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at his home after a brief illness.
He was born July 16, 1939, in Danville, a son of the late William H. and Catherine E. (Bower) Wolfe. He was a lifetime resident of Dornsife. On March 2, 1968, in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station, he was united in marriage to the former Patsy L. Erdman, who survives.
Bill was a 1957 graduate of Trevorton High School.
He was an outside truck tire salesman for Bastian Tire Sales, Shamokin Dam, for many years before retiring.
Mr. Wolfe was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station.
He was also a life member of the Herndon Fire Company.
Bill enjoyed spending time with his grandchild, who was his pride and joy; golfing; bowling; and playing cards.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, Patsy, are one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and Douglas Mengle of Mount Pleasant Mills; one grandson, Matthew William Mengle; one brother, Robert L. Wolfe of RR1 Dornsife; his mother-in-law, Bertha I. Erdman of RR1 Herndon; sisters and brothers-in-laws; nieces; and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Hunter Station, where the funeral will follow at 10 with the Rev. Glen B. Keidel Jr. officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Contributions in Bill's memory may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, RR1, Box 30B, Dornsife, PA 17823.

Roy C Kissinger, 79, of Pitman, passed away Friday, May 22nd, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
Roy was born in Klingerstown, on August 9, 1940, a son of the late Eva (Davis) and Charles E Kissinger and grandson of the late Elura B and Walter H. Davis.
He graduated from the Tri-Valley High School and from Penn State Schuylkill. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1963-1969.
Roy was employed as an Insurance Broker and was a partner at Tri-County Insurance Associates retiring in July of 2018 after 58 years of service.
Roy was a lifetime member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown where he served as a Sunday School teacher, was on various committees and was a Church Council President.
He was a 52 year member of the Hegins-Valley View Rotary Club, he served as Treasurer and President; served as Governor of District 737 in 1987-1988; was a Paul Harris Fellow and Major Donor of the Rotary Foundation; his International Awards include, Citation for Meritorious Service, Service Above Self Award, and Distinguished Service Award; He was honored to serve as International President's Representative to District 747.
Roy was a Renaissance Brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity at Susquehanna University. He was active in Boy Scouting growing up and sat on the Eagle Scout Board of Review as the Advancement Chairman, was a certified merit badge instructor, and bestowed many Eagle Awards on area Scouts.
He was a 50 year member of Valley Lodge F & A M No. 737, he was also a member of the Millersburg Forest Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Valley of Harrisburg A.A.S.R.
Roy was a member of the Klingerstown Fire Company, where he served as President and Chairman of the Park creation and was also a member of the Mahantongo Fire Company in Pitman.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Alice Mary (Wetzel) Kissinger, they were married December 21, 1963; one daughter, Kathryn K. Snowe and her husband David of State College; one son Andrew P. Kissinger and his wife Crystal Peachey of Valley View and one grandson Charles E. Kissinger of Valley View.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Rotary Foundation Annual Fund, 1560 Sherman Ave. Evanston, IL 60201.

HERNDON R.D. 1 -- Earl E. Erdman, 55, of Herndon R.D. 1, died early Thursday morning in Sunbury Community Hospital shortly after being admitted.
Born in Dornsife R.D., Sept. 18, 1921, Mr. Erdman was a son of Mrs. Mabel (Heim) Erdman, Valley View, and the late Miles Erdman.
Mr. Erdman was employed as a carpenter foreman at Broscius Lumber Co., Sunbury. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Klingerstown. His first wife, the former Grace Attinger, died April, 1966. In July of 1970 he married the former Bernadette Haley at Trevorton.
Survivors include the widow; the mother; four children, Mrs. James (Kim) Crissinger, Paxinos R.D. 1; Bryant, Peter and Angelique, all at . home; two grandchildren; two brothers, Walter, Dornsife R.D., and Bruce, Klingerstown, and four sisters, Mrs. Clayton (Helen) Kline and Mrs. Donald (Gloria) Carl, both of Valley View; Mrs. Roy (Lena) Kissinger and Mrs. Billy (Ruby) Wiest, Dalmatia R.D. 1.

SUNBURY - Mabel E. Erdman, 88, formerly of Valley View and Klingerstown, died Friday morning, Feb. 23, 1990, in the Leader Nursing Home, where she had been a resident since December 1986.
Born in Hebe on Dec. 18, 1901. she: was a daughter of the late Samuel and Mary (Mauser) Heim. Her husband, Miles Erdman, died May 14, 1940.
She was educated in the Dornsife area schools and was of the Protestant faith.
Surviving are four daughters, Helen Kline and Gloria Carl of Valley View and Lena Kissinger and Ruby Wiest of Dalmatia RDl; two sons, Walter of Halifax and Bruce of Klingerstown; 24 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, two sisters and three brothers.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown RD1, by the Rev. Walter L. Hafer Jr., a Lutheran pastor in Klingerstown.
Burial will be in St. Michael's Lutheran Cemetery, Klingerstown.
Visitors may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton F Kline in 1998. She was also preceded in death by two daughters, Joan M Hepner and Dianna Kline, by two brothers, Earl Erdman and Walter "Sonny" Erdman, and by a sister, Gloria Carl.
She is survived by a son Jeffrey C Kline and his wife Pam of Hegins; two grandsons Troy D Starr and his wife Gina of Valley View and Jonathan J Kline of Hegins; a granddaughter Jackie P Kline of Hegins; a great granddaughter Morganne C Starr of Valley View; a great grandson Tyler C Starr of Valley View; a brother Bruce Erdman of Klingerstown; two sisters Ruby Wiest and Lena Kissinger both of Millersburg: and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View, on Saturday, January 8, 2011, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Philip Sabas officiating.
A viewing was held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Saturday at the church.
Burial was made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.

Lena Mary Kissinger, age 90, of Millersburg, formerly of Pillow, passed away on Monday, July 10, 2017, at The Manor at Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.
She was born in Klingerstown on November 12, 1926, a daughter of the late Mabel Heim Erdman and the late Miles Erdman.
She was a member of Salem Zion United Church of Christ, Pillow.
Lena enjoyed cooking, needlework, and spending time with her family and friends.
Her husband Roy E Kissinger, to whom she was married for 60 years, passed away in 2003. She was also preceded in death by three brothers Earl Erdman, Walter Erdman, and Bruce Erdman; and by three sisters Helen Kline, Gloria Carl, and Ruby Wiest.
Lena is survived by two daughters, Trena M Landis and her husband William of Lebanon, and Betty A Warfel and her husband David of Millersburg; a granddaughter, Crystal Richard of Harrisburg; a grandson, Jordan Warfel and his wife Kristy of Etters; a great-grandson, Joshua Richard of Orlando, FL; a great-granddaughter, Lauren Richard of Harrisburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family at the James A Reed Funeral Home, Pillow, with Rev Curtis Zemencik officiating.
Burial will be made in Grandview Cemetery, Pillow.

     Walter Miles Erdman was born on 23 October 1934, Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, PA.1,2,3 He was the son of Miles Monroe Erdman and Mabel Ellen Heim. Walter Miles Erdman married Anita I. Dworchak, daughter of Edward J. Dworchak and Bertha E. Geyer, circa 1956.4,5 Walter Miles Erdman died on 26 December 2007, Harrisburg Hospital, Harrisburg, Dauphin County, PA, at age 73.3
MILLERSBURG -- Walter M. Erdman, 73, of 102 Race St., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007, in the Harrisburg Hospital.
He was born Tuesday, Oct. 23, 1934, in Upper Mahanoy Township, a son of the late Miles and Mabel E. (Heim) Erdman. His wife, the former Anita Dworchak, died on Nov. 22.
Mr. Erdman was a self-employed master carpenter, and also worked for Zartman Construction. He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Surviving are two sons, David Erdman and Stephen Erdman, both of Millersburg; two daughters, Pamela Graff of Halifax and Crystal Reed of Marysville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lena Kissinger of Millersburg and Helen Kline of Valley View; and a brother, Bruce Erdman of Klingerstown. Preceding him in death, in addition to his wife, was a grandson, Heath Erdman; a brother, Earl Erdman; and a sister, Gloria Carl.
Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Home Inc., Millersburg, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Elizabeth George.
Burial will be in Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.

     Frances Barbara Gansert was born in October 1871.1 She was the daughter of Frederick Grass Gansert and Caroline Susan Hummer.1 Frances Barbara Gansert married Otis Wilson Klinger, son of David S. Klinger and Barbara Merkel Wiest, on 11 February 1890, Black Hawk County, IA.1,2 Frances Barbara Gansert died on 11 March 1905, Presbyterian Hospital, Waterloo, Black Hawk County, IA, at age 33.1
Newspaper obituary:
Mrs. O.W. Klinger, wife of a merchant at Glasgow, north of this city, died Saturday night at 11 o'clock at the Presbyterian hospital in this city. The cause of death is not reported by the physicians who had the case in charge. The lady was brought to the hospital here about two weeks ago, and had been under treatment from that time to the time of her death. Mrs. Klinger's husband is engaged in the general merchandise business at Glasgow, and the family is among the most highly respected citizens of that section of the country.
Deceased is survived by her husband and six children, the latter aged from twelve years down to four months. The children are as follows: Beulah, Quintah [Lila], Fred, George, Percy, and William Albert. Mrs. Klinger's maiden name was Gansart, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gansart of this city, residing at 414 Dane street. She was married to Mr. Klinger fourteen years ago. Mrs. Klinger was thirty-three years of age. The lady's many friends in Waterloo and in her home community will be pained to hear of her death, and deep sorrow will be felt by the friends of the family for the bereaved husband and six little children left without a mother.
The funeral will be held at the United Evangelical church on Logan avenue tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 o'clock, and the remains will be laid to rest in Fairview cemetery.

Services will be at 10.30 a m. Saturday at United Methodist Church in Praine du Chien. The Rev. James Barnes will officiate. Burial will be in Ferryville Cemetery.
Friends may call after 4 pm. today at the Garrity Funeral Home in Prairie du Chien and at the church on Saturday from 9.30 a m. until the time of services.

George Klinger
George Klinger, 46, former Waterloo resident, died at, 7:15 a. m. Tuesday in a hospital at La Crosse, Wis., of complications following a major operation for a stomach ailment. He had been ill six weeks.
He was born in January, 1900 in Waterloo the son of Mr. and Mrs. O. W. Klinger and resided hre until moving in 1918 to Ferryville, Wis., where he had since resided.
Surviving are his wife and two sons Howard, 17, and Harvey, 19, at home in Ferryville; two sisters, Mrs. W. J. Harris, 2635 East Fourth street, who has been with him in La Crosse, and Mrs. Albert Koob, Jesup, la., also three brothers, Fred Klinger, Chicago, Percy Klinger, Ferryville, and William Beiman, Frederika, la.
Funeral services are tentatively set for Thursday in Ferryville.

LYNXVILLE, Wis. -- Glenn H. Klinger, 69, a lockman for 32 yean, died at his rural Lynxville home near Lock and Dam No. 9 on Tuesday, Dec. 6.
He was born March 22, 1908, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Otis Klinger, and married Illa Post, who died in about 1956. He retired in 1966.
Surivivors include four half-brothers. Percy and Fred Klinger of Prairie du Chien, Otis Klinger of Ferryville and Bill Beiman of Fredenka, Iowa; two half-sisters, Mrs. Beulah Harris of Waterloo and Mrs. Ray (Blanche) Hackett of Savanna, 111; and one step-sister, Mrs. James (Bernita) Johnston of Ferryville.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the Lake-Thomburg Funeral Home, Prairie du Chien, Pastor John Speerstra officating. Burial will be in the Prairie du Chien Cemetery.
