Frank L. Masser, 83, of RD Klingerstown, died at 5:35 Thursday afternoon at his home. He had been in ill health the past few years.
Mr. Masser was born February 2, 1895 at Pitman, a son of the late Felix and Phoebe Jane (Zimmerman) Masser.
He was a retired coal miner, farmer and PennDot employee. He was member of Christ United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, Woodmen of the World Camp 433, Pitman and the Klingerstown Fire Co.
He was married January 29, 1921 at RD Herndon to the former Carrie Clark, who survives.
A son, Guy, died in 1951.
Surviving, in addition to his widow, are three sons, Ernest, of RD Dornsife, Kenneth, of Sherwood, Ohio, and Paul, of RD Lykens; 14 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Clair, of RD Klingerstown, and one sister, Katie, of Hegins.
Services will be held Monday morning in Christ United Church of Christ, Leck Kill, with his pastor, the Rev. Eldon Ehrhat officiating. Burial will be in Jacob's Cemetery, RD Pitman. The Lawrence W. Rothermel Funeral Home, RD Klingerstown, has charge of arrangements.

Guy H. Masser, age 29 years, of Klingerstown R. D., died in the Geisinger Hospital at Danville Friday morning.
Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Betty Masser; one daughter, Nancy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Masser, Klingerstown R. D; and three brothers, Paul and Ernest, of Klingerstown R. D., and Kenneth, stationed with the army at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
Services were held from the Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, at 1 :30 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, with further services in Christ Reformed Church at Leck Kill. The pastor, Rev. J. M. Light, assisted by Rev. W. H. Marburger, officiated and interment was made in the Howerter Cemetery at Pitman.

Masser married June Marie Troutman, daughter of William Jacob Troutman and Thelma Shadel, on 31 December 1947.1,2 Ernest F. Masser died on 26 December 2012, Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 87.2

KLINGERSTOWN — Ernest F. Masser, 87, of Klingerstown, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at the Friendly Nursing Home, Pitman.
He was born May 23, 1925, in Klingerstown, a son of the late Frank and Carrie (Clark) Masser. On Dec. 31, 1947, he married the former June M. Troutman, who survives. They celebrated almost 65 years of marriage. He graduated from Pine Park High School in Leck Kill. He worked as a farmer, owning and operating a farm, and was employed as a butcher at the former Boyer Meats.
He was an active member of Christ Evangelical and Reformed Church, Leck Kill, where he had served on the consistory, was a longtime Sunday school teacher and was named Man of the Year at the church in 2012. He was a member of the Klingerstown Fire Company, a proud member of the NRA and a member of the coon hunting club from Stonington and the Schneedaal Camp.
Ernest loved coon hunting and hunting, especially the late muzzleloader season. He was devoted to caring for his wife.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, three sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn and Cheryl Masser, Robert Masser and Dennis and Christina Masser, all of Dornsife, and one daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Dave Hilbert, of Dornsife; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Paul Masser, of Loyalton, and Kenneth Masser, of Ohio; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Connie Masser, and one brother, Guy Masser.
A viewing will be held from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, followed by the funeral at 2:30 with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Interment will follow in Jacob's Cemetery, Leck Kill. Contributions in Ernest's memory may be made to Christ Church, 1128 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, PA 17941.2

LYKENS - Paul F. Masser, 75, of State Route 209 in Lykens passed away Thursday, Feb. 4th at the Manor at Susquehanna Village. He was born on Sept. 3, 1940 in Klingerstown, PA the son of the late Frank L. and Carrie S. (Clark) Masser. On October 17, 1959 he married Joanne M. (Long) Masser. Paul served as a Sgt. in the PA National Guard from 1958-66, and was a member of Immanuel UM Church, Loyalton. He was a self employed carpenter and was the owner of M & Z Construction of Lykens, and retired from Super Rite where he was a maintenance mechanic. He was also a member of the American Legion Post # 0945, and co-founder Schnee Daal Hunting Camp. He was an avid deer hunter, and enjoyed HS Football, gardening, fishing, and crossword puzzles. In addition to his wife he is survived by his children Guy Masser and his wife April of Sunbury, Peggy Shultz of Halifax, Debra Masser of Lititz, David Masser of Fairbanks, AK, Tammy Masser of Lykens; grandchildren Jamie, Shawn, Michael, Kristen, Wyatt, and Zakk, and 16 great grandchildren, and one brother Kenneth Masser of Ney, OH. He was preceded in death by two brothers Guy and Ernest Masser. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 at Trinity UM Church, Elizabethville on Thursday, Feb. 11th. Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am. Burial will be private at Riverview Memorial Gardens. Elwood "Slick" R. Maurer, 75, a Coleman Labor Day Pigeon Shoot champion, died Tuesday afternoon in his home.
Mr. Maurer, of Klingerstown area, was Schuylkill County champion in the Coleman shoot in 1950, 1955, and 1956.
He was state champion in the double-barrel shotgun competiton at Camp Coleman shoot in 1956.
He was holder of numerous other trophies earned in competition in pigeon and blue-rock shoots.
Mr. Maurer was born in the Klingerstown area, Julky 19, 1912, a son of the late William and Catherine Knorr Maurer.
He retired from farming in 1977.

She married Ernest F. Masser, who preceded her in death Dec. 26, 2012.
June was a homemaker and had previously worked on the Blyler and Schwartz farms.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Masser, and a brother, Darvin Miller.

DALMATIA - John A. Kauffman, 46, Dalmatia RD1. died Tuesday in the Harrisburg Hospital. Death was due to natural causes.
He was an employee of the Dauphin County Prison and a member of David's UCC Church.
He is survived by his wife, Joan M., a son,Gary L. of Dalmatia RD1; a daughter. Mrs. Gail M. Beaver of Dalmatia; his father, John W. Kauffman of Elizabethville; a brother. Robert W. of Lykens; two sisters, Mrs. Mary M. Mauser of Lykens and Mrs. Arlene Blanchard of Johnstown. N Y; and two grandchildren.
A funeral was conducted today in Millersburg.

     Bruce Elwood Maurer was born on 9 June 1935, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.3,4 He was the son of Elwood R. Maurer and Tamie Edna Clark.1 Bruce Elwood Maurer died on 9 July 2009, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 74.3

Bruce E. Maurer, 74, of 1494 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, died Friday at his residence. He had been in ill health since February.
Born in Klingerstown, June 9, 1935, he was a son of the late Elwood and Tamie Clark Maurer.
On June 29, 1957, he married the former Yvonne Reigle, who survives.
Bruce was a 1953 graduate of the former Hegins Township High School and served his country in the Army from 1958 to 1960.
He was an employee of the former Fleetwood Motor Homes of PA Inc. at Elysburg, retiring in 2000.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was a member of Salem Church of Rough and Ready, Klingerstown, the Klingerstown Fire Company and the Erdman's Sportsman Club.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn Rickert, in 2008.
In addition to his wife, Yvonne, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Tania Maurer, Lykens, and Randall and Carol Maurer, Klingerstown; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Grace Rebuck and Carol Shomper, both of Klingerstown; a brother, Leslie Maurer, Dalmatia; nieces and nephews.
Services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Mark Rothermel officiating. Interment will be in Salem Cemetery, Klingers-town. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, 1133 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, has charge of arrangements.

     Her married name was Rickert.1 Kathryn Ida Maurer was born on 2 December 1939, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.2 She was the daughter of Elwood R. Maurer and Tamie Edna Clark.1 Kathryn Ida Maurer married Richard L. Rickert, son of Marlin S. Rickert and Doris Huntsinger, circa October 1960.3,1 Kathryn Ida Maurer died on 30 June 2008, Manorcare, Camp Hill, Cumberland County, PA, at age 68.2

Kathryn Ida (Maurer) Rickert, 68, of Camp Hill, died Monday, June 30, 2008, at Manorcare, Camp Hill.
Kathy retired as an Administrative Officer from the Department of Education in July 2002, with over 30 years of service with the Commonwealth of PA. She was a member and volunteer for the Central PA Friends of Jazz for 28 years. She also enjoyed attending various sporting events that included her children and grandchildren.
Born on December 2, 1939, in Klingerstown, she was a daughter of the late Elwood and Tamie (Clark) Maurer. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Bridgette Amanda Rickert.
Surviving are two sons, Scott L. Rickert and wife, Pamela K. of Mechanicsburg and Bret M. Rickert of Carlisle; two sisters, Grace Rebuck and Carol Shomper, both of Klingerstown; two brothers, Bruce Maurer of Klingerstown and Leslie Maurer of Dalmatia; a grandson, Spencer L; and granddaughter, Lexia E. Rickert; six nephews and two nieces; several grand nieces and grand nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday in Parthemore Funeral Home and Cremation Services, New Cumberland, with the Rev. David J. Schreffler officiating. Burial will be in Mechanicsburg Cemetery. Viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the funeral home.
