    Paul Bordner Jr., infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Bordner, of Urban, died in a Harrisburg hosvital Tuesday, following a brief illness.
    The child's father is stationed with the army at Fort Lee, Virginia.
    Survivors are his parents, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Bordner, of Urban, and Edwin Herb, of Red Cross.
    Funeral services will be held from the home of Edwin Herb at Red Cross, at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon. Rev. J. M. Singer, pastor of the Herndon Reformed Charge will officiate and interment will be in the Red Cross cemetery.

    November 13, 1942 — March 29, 2025
    Carolyn Kay (Shaffer) Funk, 82, a resident at Bethany Village Senior Living Community in Bethany, PA and formerly of Etters, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday night, March 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Her beloved husband of 54 years, Walter Clair Funk, Jr. preceded her in death on September 27, 2019.
    Born November 13, 1942 in Elizabethville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Catherine (Adams) Shaffer.
    Carolyn was a 1960 graduate of Upper Dauphin Joint High School and a 1963 graduate of Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing where she earned her Diploma in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for many years, serving her community in various nursing capacities including, Harrisburg Hospital staff nurse, Community Health nurse, occupational health nurse, office nurse, medical products consultant and medical insurance nurse, finally retiring from Highmark.
    She was an active member of Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church in Etters, PA, where she served in many positions including Lay Leader, VBS Coordinator and Stephen Minister. Carolyn will be remembered as a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will also be remembered as a Band Parent and a 2nd mother to many of her children's friends who spent countless hours at their home where Carolyn welcomed and loved them all.
    She is survived by a son, Rev. Eric L. Funk and his wife Tracy of Honesdale, PA; a daughter, Catherine L. Hagadorn and her husband Michael of Russell, PA; four grandchildren: Erin and Emily Hagadorn, and Evan and Eli Funk; and a niece, Wanda Shaffer.
    Carolyn was also preceded in death by a brother, Evan Shaffer and his wife Ruth.
    A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Road, Etters, PA 17319, with a visitation from 9:00-11:00 AM.
    In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Village Senior Living Community "Staff Development Fund" 150 Noble Lane Bethany, PA 18431. Carolyn deeply appreciated and loved the staff who cared for her and wished to support them in continuing their training and education.
    Internment will be with her late husband at the Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery.

    ETTERS- Walter Clair Funk, Jr., 75, of Fairview Township, passed away Friday, September 27, 2019 at Helen Simpson Rehab Hospital in Harrisburg. He was the husband of Carolyn K. (Shaffer) Funk. The couple celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary on September 4, 2019. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Fishing Creek Salem United Methodist Church, 402 Valley Rd., Etters, PA 17319, with a visitation from 9:30-11 a.m. His pastor, The Reverend Dr. Deborah Heisley-Cato will be officiating at the service.
