    John was born in Enola and was the son of the late Ralph and Thelma Ditmer. He was a member of the VFW, Robert H. Hoke American Legion Post 272 of Linglestown, Air Force Assn, DAV, Air Force Sgt's Assn and Top 3 Enlisted Assn. He was retired from the US Air Force after 25 years of service. He was a former Veterans Employment Training Representative for the Commonwealth of Pa.
    John is survived by his wife of 69 years, Shirley Ditmer; his daughter, Linda Ditmer; his son, John Ditmer; three grandchildren.
    Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
    Memorial Contributions may be made to Humane Society of Greater Harrisburg or to Capital Area Theuraputic Riding Assn (CATRA).
