  E. Herbert Wagner, 59, 1057 N. Fourth St., Reading, a native of Tower City, a foreman at the Charles Evans Cemetery, Reading, died Thursday in the Reading Hospital. He was the son of Robert B. and Frances (Saltzer) Wagner.
  Mr. Wagner and his widow, Elsie R. (Grund) Wagner, would have celebrated their 40th wed ding anniversary in July. Wagner, who resided in Reading for the past 35 years, started working at the cemetery in April, 1920. A year later he was made foreman and at times supervised the work of 60 men on the 120 acres.
  [H]e was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, 14th Ward Republican Association and Veteran Firemen's Association.
  In addition to his widow he survived by three daughters, Ruth M. wife of J. Paul Steffe, Kenhorst; Elsie V., wife of Earl B. Eckman, Bridgeport R. D.1, and Vera E., wife of William J. Smith, Lincoln Park, and three grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held Monday in the Cramp Funeral Home. Burial will be private Charles Evans Cemetery.

  Elsie V. (Wagner) Eckman of King of Prussia Elsie V. (Wagner) Eckman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, surrounded by her loving family at her residence in King of Prussia, PA. She was 93. Mrs. Eckman worked for 30 years as a secretary for the Valley Forge Historical Society. She was a member of the Christ Church UCC in Norristown, PA. Elsie was also a charter member and former vice-president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company. Born in Reading, PA on September 25, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Emil H. and Elsie (Grund) Wagner. Surviving is her loving family including a daughter, Shirley J. Gray of King of Prussia, PA; 1 step-son and 4 step-daughters; 2 grandsons, James A. Gray and Dean P. Gray; 5 great-grand-children: Danielle, Matthew, Andrew, Lauren & Spencer; and 1 nephew and 1 niece. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 47 years, Earl B. Eckman and her second husband of 26 years, Alfred DiNenno; 2 sisters, Ruth Steffie and Vera Smith. Funeral services and interment will be private at the request of the family.
