  JAMES MONROE BIXLER
  James Monroe Bixler, a retired farmer, died at his home in Valley View on Wednesday.
  A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Bixler, Valley View, he was born on October 26. 1871, and conducted a farm north of Valley View until he retired three years ago. He was a member of the United Brethren church.
  Surviving besides his wife, the former Lydia Miller, to whom he was married 52 years ago are eight children: Gurney, Jennie, wife of John Dunkle, Rufus and Clayton, all of Valley View; [Clayton,] William and Verna, wife of Clayton Deibler, both of Wiliamstown; Martha and Ralph, at home; 27 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Five sisters, Mrs. Susan Rothermel. Klingerstown: Mrs. Calvin Heater, Mrs. Edgar Snvder. Mrs. Edgar Spotts and Mrs. Mabel Mover, all of Valley View; one half sister, Mrs. Sallie Fetterolf, Shamokin; one foster sister, Mrs. Arthur Bowman, Valley View and one brother, Lewis Bixler, Valley View, also survive.
  Funeral Saturday morning from the H. E. Miller Funeral Home, Valley View followed by services in the United Brethren church, Valley View. Rev. H. M. Mentzer will conduct the services. Burial in adjoining cemetery.
