    David L. Leitzel, 65 of Ashland, PA passed away Saturday, Dec. 5,2021 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. Born in Ashland Feb.29,1956 the son of the late Willard and Elizabeth (Heffner) Leitzel. He graduated from North Schuylkill High School and presently worked for the North Schuylkill School strict in housekeeping.
    In addition to his parents preceding him in death were two brothers and one sister: Terry, Ronald and Dorothy.
    Surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Kevin, Texas; William, Ashland; Cindy Rock, Ashland; Mary Ann, Shamokin and Brenda Lee, Shamokin, PA .

    There will be a memorial service held at her church on Friday, Jan 11th, 2019 at 11 AM. Condolences may be offered from 10-11 AM. Burial in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville will be open to the family and friends at 9:30 AM.     Funeral services were held Tuesday morning from Stewart J. Dreisigacker Funeral Home for Harvey F. Leitzel, 53, of 628 E. Grand Ave., who died Saturday afternoon at his home.
    Born August 13, 1921, at Tower City, he was a son of Harvey and Linnie Ferree Leitzel.
    He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the US Army, a member of Tower City American Legion and the Tower City and Reinerton Fire Companies. He was a former employee of Stahl and Shade Coal Co., Good Spring.
    Surviving are his widow, the former Faye Stahl; one daughter, Mrs. Patricia Bender, Muir; five sons. Hilbertand Louis of Florida; John and Terry at home; Kerry of Tower City; four brothers. Robert of Tower City; William, Mechanicsburg; Harry of Lebanon, and Russell of Chicago, Illinois. There are four grandchildren.
    The Rev. Elmer C. Clouser, pastor of the United Methodist Parish, officiated. Burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery.

    Born Nov. 3, 1922 in Hegins, she was the daughter of the late George and Minnie Swinehart Carl.
    She was a 1941 graduate of the former Hegins High School and a graduate of the Pottsville School of Nursing. She was an LPN with Home HealthCare. She also was the owner of the former Ida's Craft Shop in Reinerton and a demonstrator for American Home Toys and Beeline Clothing. She provided emergency shelter for Children Services, took children in from Topton Home and the Hershey Home and was a sponsor for Fresh Air Children. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Muir and its Ladies Bible Class, Altar Guild and was a teacher for vacation Bible school and Children of the Church. She volunteered for Meals on Wheels, the Williams Valley Elementary School, was a member of the Tower Porter Ambulance Association, Old Home Week Committee, a former Girl Scout leader, ran the refreshment stand at the Tower Porter swimming pool, competed with the Senior Olympics and was a member of the Pottsville and Pine Grove Bowling Leagues.
    She was the widow of Robert J. Leitzel. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Lois Reiner and a sister, Edna Rhoades. Surviving are a daughter, Monica S. Romberger of Muir and Kimberly M. Leitzel ofHarrisburg; a son, Glenn Baker of Tower City; two brothers, Charles Carl of Gordon and George Carl of Tower City; three sisters, Violet Lucas and Anna Marwine, both of Tremont and Joan Kroeck of Annville; two grandsons and three great-grandchildren.
    Services were held Oct. 11 from her church. Burial was in the Methodist Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Helping Hands of Grace U.M.Church, Wiconisco Street, Muir 17957. Dimon Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
