    Mrs. E. Mae Gamble, 53, of 1037 Line St., Sunbury. died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. where she was admitted Thursday.
    Mrs. Gamble was employed as purchasing agent at the Selinsgrove State School and Hospital, where she had worked for 27 years. She had not been feeling well for the past month but worked until Thanksgiving.
    Mrs. Gamble bad been a resi dent of Sunbury since child hood. She was born Aug. 26, 1914. at Klingerstown, daughter of the late Henry W. and Emma Jane Davis Engle. He husband, Benjamin L., preceded her in death on June 20, 1939.
    She attended Sunbury public schools and was graduated from Sunbury High School in 1932. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and Sunday school.
    She is survived by a daughter Carol,wife of Paul Shamp, Northumberland, and two grandchildren, Debra and David Shamp, Northumberland.
    Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Wirt funeral home, Sunbury. Rev, Carl Johansson, her pastor, will officiate, and burial will be made in Pomfret Manor Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

    Carol M. Shamp, 81, of Northumberland, passed away after a long and courageous battle with respiratory illness on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
    Born May 25, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Mae Gamble. After graduating from Sunbury High School, she married Paul W. Shamp on Aug. 7, 1955.
    During her younger days, she was employed at Buttercrust Bakery as a secretary and then Swineford National Bank as a teller.
    She was an active member of the Zion Lutheran Church Northumberland where she taught Sunday school, and was Parent Teacher Association president for C.W. Rice Middle School where her children attended classes. She enjoyed spending quality family time with her husband, children, grandchildren, and greatgrandchildren. Her hobbies including reading novels and the newspapers and attending her grandsons' sporting events.
    She is survived by her husband, Paul; her children, David and Deborah Shamp; four grandsons, Ryan, Andrew, David and Jonathon; and three great-granddaughters, Peyton, Aubrey and Brynley.
    A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2017, in the Apple Chapel of the Zion Lutheran Church, Sunbury, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.
    Interment will be in the Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.
    In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol's honor can be made to her beloved Zion Lutheran Church, 15 S. Fifth St. Sunbury, PA 17801.
    Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland.

    Marlin D. Daniel, 71, of 1527 W Main St., Valley View, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday at his residence.
    Born Nov. 9, 1940, in Valley View, he was a son of Marie M. Artz, Valley View, and the late Darvin I. Daniel.
    A 1958 graduate of Tri-Valley High School, he was a graduate of the Pottsville School of Nursing.
    He served in the Army and was a registered nurse at the Selinsgrove Center prior to his retirement.
    He was a member, president of the board and deacon of Lykens Valley Bible Church, Lykens.
    He was also a member of Fidler's Run Sportsmen's Association and the NRA.
    Marlin enjoyed automobiles, guns and studying the Bible.
    Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Cathy C. Christ Daniel, to whom he was married 22 years.
    Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions can be made to Covenant Care Hospice, 1510 Highway 61 South, Pottsville, PA 17901.
