    James R. Miller, age 76, of Lititz, PA, formerly of Valley View, PA, went home to be with Jesus Friday, November 21, 2014, at Lancaster General Hospital in Lancaster.
    Born in Lykens, PA, he was the son of the late Lester and Minerva Straub Miller Sr. He and his wife, Sandra Lee Romberger Miller, were married almost 50 years.
    James served in the US Army.
    He spent his entire working with the New Holland Farm Machine Company and served as a service parts manager in the large parts distribution center.
    James was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and golf. In his early years he played professional baseball in the Washington Senators Farm System, only to have a promising career interrupted by the army draft. To this day, James is considered one of the best left-handed pitchers ever to come out of the Schuylkill/Dauphin area. In later years James helped develop and promote a successful Seniors Golf League at the Lykens Valley Golf Course in Millersburg, PA.
    James attended the Worship Center in Leola, PA for 27 years. For many of those years he was active in their traffic control and greeter programs.
    Surviving in addition to his loving wife is his wonderful daughter Jennifer wife of Andrew Thompson; two grandchildren, Mariah and Luke Thompson all of Lititz, PA, two brothers, Lester Miller, Jr. hus- band of Lorraine of York, PA, Lawrence Miller husband of Sandi of Manheim, PA; one sister Anne Meckley wife of Fred of Herndon, PA; an Aunt and Uncle, Robert and Nancy Straub of Dalmatia, PA and several nieces and nephews.
    Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend James's Life Celebration Funeral Service at the Worship Center, 2384 New Holland Pike, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Wednesday, November 26, 1 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Sam Smucker officiating. Interment will be in Brunnerville United Methodist Church Cemetery in Brunnerville, PA. Friends may call at the Worship Center on Wednesday from 9:30 AM until time of service.

    Margaret M. Straub, 82, of 801 E. Main St., Hegins, died Thursday at Susquehanna Lutheran Village, Millersburg.
    Born in Hegins, Aug. 11, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Gurney and Sadie Bixler Bendigo. She was a graduate of Hegins Township High School and Bowling Green (Ky.) Business School.
    She was a retired supervisor for Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, Harrisburg.
    She was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, and Hegins Fire Company Auxiliary.
    Her husband, Russell "Strap," died in 1990.
    Surviving are two daughters, Sally Schwartz, San Diego, Calif., and Carolyn Schultz, Hegins; three grandchildren; a great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Warren Egebo will officiate. Interment will be in Friedens Cemetery, Hegins.
