    Lawrence Deibler Dies On Friday
    Lawrence T. Deibler, 33 years, died at his home on Wiconisco avenue on Friday morning at 12:20 o'clock. He had been seriously ill for several months suffering with tuberculosis, and for a short time had been a patient at the Hamburg State Hospital. He had been unable to work since last January but his ailment developed from a serious attack of pneumonia two years ago.
    Mr. Deibler was born at Lykens on June 24, 1903, and was a son of Jas. T. Deibler, now a resident of New Jersey. He was employed at Brookside colliery for a number of years as a coal inspector, and also served as a special policeman for Tower City borough.
    To survive he leaves his wife, formerly Annie C. Rabuck, five children, Betty, Lamar, Dolly, Lawrence, Jr., and John Albert; his father, three brothers, Homer Deibler, of Lykens; Robert Deibler, of Bloomsburg; Allen Deibler, of Bethlehem, and one sister, Mrs. John Clarke, of Delango, N. J.
    The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his late home. Services were conducted at the house by Rev. S. A. Rauch, pastor of the United Brethren Church, of which he was a member, assisted by Rev. C. S. Holston, pastor of the Methodist Church. Interment was made in the Orwin Lutheran and Reformed cemetery. Funeral director Dean O. Snyder had charge.

    John (Jack) A. Deibler, Sr., 82 of Shiremanstown, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on March 16, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on May 2, 1934 in Tower City, PA, the son of Laurence and Annie Deibler. He was preceded in death by his angel, wife Nancilee Mae (Updegrove) Deibler, whom he married July 31, 1954.
    John is survived by a large loving family. His children John A. Deibler, Jr. and wife Karen, Douglas B. Deibler and wife Sandy, Randall P. Deibler, Susan D. Coleman and Scott D. Deibler. His grandchildren Blaine Deibler and wife Jennifer, John J. Deibler and wife Jennifer, Amy Updegraff and husband Chris, Brian Deibler and wife Amanda, Kristine Deibler and Angela Coleman. His great grandchildren Bryce, Colten, Adelynn, Garrett, Leona and Paxton.
    John was a hard and dedicated worker. He started working at 8 years old at a local farm. He became a truck driver and drove tractor trailers for Central Storage and Transfer from 1957 to 1991 and ABF from 1991 to 1998. He had a second career after retirement at Country Market/Stauffers of Kissel Hill Nursery from 2001 to 2016.
    John was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Shiremanstown, where he had served as a deacon for several years, on the property committee and as an usher. He also was active in scouting and spending time with his family camping and enjoying nature. His goal in life was to make at least one person smile every day. He will be missed by many.
    Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Shiremanstown. Visitation with the family will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will be private for the family.
