James J. Wetzel, 64, of West , Market Street, Pottsville, died Thursday night at home.
Born in Ashland, March 26, 1940, he was a son of the late Henry Wetzel and Mary Magdeburg Tophoney and a stepson of the late Louis Tophoney. He attended Pottsville High School.
He was employed by D.G. Yuengling & Son Inc., Pottsville, as a maintenance worker until retiring in 2002. He was the former owner of G & W Auto Body, Pottsville.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Walter Griffiths AMVETS, an active member of Yorkville Hose Company and a social member of West End Hose Company, all of Pottsville. He was a member of the Teamsters Union and Masonic Lodge 730.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ronald; a daughter, Mary Ann Wetzel.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, the former Anna Marie Keip; two brothers, Robert, Frackville, and Richard, Ashland; three sisters, Rosella Tobias, Pottsville, Sue Ann Wagner, Minersville, and Mary Agnes Zerbey, Pottsville; a niece, Brenda Moran, Forestville, whom he raised; several other nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home Inc., Pottsville, with the Rev. Carl A. Folk officiating. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.

Grace Charlotte Wetzel, 64, of the Ashland area, died Saturday in Ashland State General Hospital.
She was born in Ashland, March 7, 1921, a daughter of the late Abraham and Erma Neiswinter Yoder.
Mrs. Wetzel was a member of Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church, Barry Township, and Gordon Senior Citizens.
Surviving are her husband, Paul ; a son, Paul Jr., at home; a brother, George Yoder, Ashland; two sisters, Miriam Whery, Ashland, arid Catherine Suski, Hershey, and a half-sister, Ethel Haley, Catawissa; nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at noon Saturday in Emmanuel Evangelical Congregational Church. The Rev. L.H. Bollinger, pastor, will officiating. Frederick T. Kull Funeral Home Inc., Ashland, has charge of arrangements.

Rosella L. Tobias (Wetzel), 85 of Pottsville, passed away peacefully in her sleep.
Born in Ashland, August 9, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Henry Wetzel and Mary Magdeburg (Tophoney) and a step daughter of the late Louis Tophoney.
She worked as an aid at the former Good Samaritan Hospital and York Terrace Nursing Home. She enjoyed Bingo and gambling.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Tobias Sr; a son Charles Jr; a son Louis; a daughter Jeannette Edwards and a grandson, Thomas Noel.
Surviving is a daughter Linda McCall wife of Jeff McCall of Pottsville; 2 brothers, Robert and Richard Wetzel and a step sister Mary Agnes Zerby; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, February 21st, 2023, at 10AM from the Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville. Relatives and friends can call from 8AM to 10AM Tuesday at the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Cemetery, Schuylkill Haven.

Charles J. Tobias, 59, of the Schuylkill Haven area, died Thursday morning at St. Joseph Hospital Reading.
Born in Branchdale, May 25, 1935, he was a son of the late Raymond W. and Margaret I. Coulson Tobias.
He was a career military man having served 20 years with the Marine Corps on active duty until 1972. He then served 10 years in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1982. He was a master sergeant serving in the Korean War and two tours of duty in Vietnam.
He was employed for 15 years by Mazzuca Enterprises Pottsville, having last worked as a project manager and estimator, retiring in 1993.
A sister, Dorothy Rabuck, died in 1993.
Surviving are his wife, the former Rosella L. Wetzel to whom he was married 37 years; two sons, Charles J. Jr. and Louis V., both of Pottsville; two daughters, Linda L O'Brien, at home, and Jeanette M. Edwards, Pottsville; a brother, Raymond, West Palm Beach, Fla; eight grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from Schuylkill Memorial Park Branch of Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home Inc., Schuylkill Haven, with military honors to follow. The Rev. David R. Brumbaugh will officiate. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park.

She was last employed as a sewing machine operator for Miss Pennsylvania, Pottsville.
She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Pottsville.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ronald and James Wetzel.

She was the wife of Vaughn Edward Fekette, whom she married May 16, 1987.
She was a member of St. Ambrose Roman Catholic Church, Schuylkill Haven.
She worked as a paralegal and HR Specialist for the United States Government at Fort Bragg, N.C.
In addition to her husband and mom, she is survived by a daughter, Kiana N. Fekette; a son, Nicholas J. Fekette; a sister, Krista Smith.
A Celebration of Life funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Ebling-Stabingas Funeral Home, 26 Chestnut St., Cressona. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The family requests donations to the Susan B. Komen Foundation in her honor, P.O.
