    Ray M. Newcomer, 64, of Bridgewater, N. J., died Tuesday morning in his home.
    He was born in Pine Grove, a son of Luella Newcomer, Schuylkill Haven, and the late Reuben Newcomer.
    He was a former resident of Pine Grove, Pine Grove Township, Suedberg and Ringtown.
    Mr. Newcomer was an Air Force veteran of World War II.
    He was employed by American Cynamid Corp., New Jersey, for 34 years. He retired two years ago and was in ill health for about two years.
    Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, Ruth; two sons, Kenneth, at home, and Milton, Greenacres, Fla; three grandchildren; a brother, Wilbert, Schuylkill Haven.
    Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Speer Van Arsdale Funeral Home, 10 W. End Ave., Somerville, N.J. Burial will take place at a Somerville cemetery.

    Born in Suedberg, he was a son of the late Rueben and Luella Schwalm Newcomer.
    He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Germany.
    He worked as a dyer for American Argo Corp., Schuylkill Haven, for 18 years, and for O.B. Dyers, Reading, for 23 years, retiring in 1991.
    He was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Schuylkill Haven, and its property committee.
    A brother, M. Ray, died in 1985.
    Surviving are his wife of 48 years, the former Mildred Roeder; a daughter Cynthia Yeager, Schuylkill Haven; two grandchildren; three nephews.

    Mildred R. Newcomer, 90, of Schuylkill Haven, passed away Wednesday at Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street, Pottsville, surrounded by her family, after a brief hospital stay.
    Born in Pottsville, Oct. 16, 1922, she was a daughter of the late Rufus and Katie Steinbrunn Roeder.
    Mildred was a 1941 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School. She was a homemaker and devoted mother, who was briefly employed at Alpha Mills, Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church and enjoyed camping and playing cards.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbert; two brothers, Merlin and Eugene Roeder; two sisters, Lorraine Dewald and Bernita Roeder; and her nephew, Rodney Roeder.
    Surviving are her daughter, Cynthia Yeager, wife of Wayne, Schuylkill Haven; grandchildren, Brian Yeager, husband of Brigette, Schuylkill Haven, and Krista Laszlo, wife of Sandow, Hummelstown; three great-granddaughters, Madison Yeager, Carissa Yeager and Zoey Laszlo; and two nephews.
    Services will be private for the family with interment at Schuylkill Memorial Park.
