He was born May 13, 1920, in West Deer, where he had lived all of his life. Frank was a coal miner for the former Ford Collieries Mines in Indianola and Russellton, where he worked 31 years, until he retired in 1975. Frank was a member of the UMWA, Brackenridge American Legion, Natrona Heights VFW, Saxonburg VFD, life member of West Deer VFD No. 2 and life member of the Owls Club in Russellton. He enjoyed camping and yard work. He is survived by his two sons, Frank D. Dawson, of Irwin, and Timothy R. Dawson, of Ocean City, Md; two daughters, Vivian L. Leight, of Russellton, and Joyce E. (John) Guras, of Erie; 16 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his ex-wife, Lucille M. (Klinger) Schreiber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Margaret (Culp) Dawson; his first wife, Dorothy (Kellaway) Dawson; second wife, Elizabeth (Gillespie) Dawson; daughter, Terry R. Moore; and brother, Earl R. "Ike" Dawson. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the SIWICKI-YANICKO FUNERAL HOME, 23 McKrell Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday with the Rev. Jerry Pawloski officiating. Burial will follow in Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
