    Jewel Wetzel, 84, of Ashland, passed away Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Broad Mountain Manor Nursing Center, Frackville. Born in Gordon, May 29, 1938, she was a daughter of the late Irvin Edmondson and Marie (Zimmerman) Edmondson Raudenbush. Jewel attended Ashland Area High School and was employed for many years as an activities director and aide at the former Ashland State General Hospital, later St. Catherine’s Medical Center, Fountain Springs, until her retirement. Jewel was a member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Wetzel Sr., Ashland and her son, Ronald Wetzel Jr., Florida.
    Surviving are two sisters, Elsie Walacavage and Joan, wife of Anson Snyder all of Gordon and many Nieces and Nephews.
    Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life, Saturday, July 9, 2022, in the Simpson United Methodist Church, 119 East Biddle Street, Gordon. Visitation 10:00 AM, Service 11:00 AM. Pastor Susan Hocking, of Simpson United Methodist Church, and Rev. John Wallace, pastor of First United Methodist Church, Pottsville will officiate.     The funeral of Mrs. Jean R. McGinley, 49, wife of Thomas McGinley, 308 Troutwine St., Centralia, will be held Wednesday morning from the Stutz Funeral Home, Centralia. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated in St. Ignatius church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
    Mrs. McGinley died at 2, Saturday afternoon at Ashland Hospital where she had been a patient for 10 days. She had been ill for three years.
    Mrs. McGinley was born in Ashland, September 15, 1923, daughter of the late Henry and Alice (Weist) Wetzel. She was a member of St. Ignatius Church, the Altar and Rosary Societies and the Council of Catholic Women. She and her husband were married February 22, 1944.
    Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three daughters, Regina, wife of Daniel Slotterback, of Warminster, Lisa, and Alice, at home, one grandchild; four sisters, Josephine, wife of Harry Lynch, of New Jersey; Mrs. Rose Horvach, of Lansdale; Mary Jane, wife of Joseph Selinsky, of New Jersey; Mrs. Janet Michaels, of Pottstown; six brothers, Henry Wetzel, of Ashland; Carl, of Lavelle; Paul, of RD Ashland; Ralph and William, of Levittown, David, of Lansdale.

    Robert C. Horbach, 15 Broad Street, Lansdale, formerly of Ashland, was accidently killed at his place of employment, the Eastern Press Concrete Company, Hatfield. He was pronounced dead on arrival at the North Penn Hospital, Hatfield, at 9:15 a.m.
    Born in Locust Gap, Mr. Horbach was a son of the late Leroy and Jennie (Frasch) Horbach, and resided most of his life in Ashland until nine years ago when he moved to Lansdale.
    Mr. Horbach was a member of Zion Reformed United Church of Christ and a veteran of World War II.

    Ralph S. Wetzel Sr., 68, a retired maintenance employee, died Sunday of cancer at his Levittown home.
    Mr. Wetzel was born and educated in Ashland, Schuylkill County, and served in the Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He resided in Levittown for 36 years.
    He worked in maintenance at James D. Morrissey Inc. in Philadelphia for eight years until retiring on disability in 1983. Earlier, he was employed for 11 years at Marshall Maintenance in Trenton.
    A 32d-degree Mason, Mr. Wetzel was a member and past master of Harry A. Houseman Lodge 717 in Northeast Philadelphia and belonged to the Scottish Rite's Lehigh Valley Consistory in Allentown.
    He also was a member of VFW Post 7654 and American Legion Post 0434, both in Ashland.
    He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Georgine Rosti Wetzel; a son, Ralph S. Jr; a daughter, Sandra Wetzel Ennis; two brothers; four sisters; and five grandchildren.
    Friends may call after 11 a.m. today at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd. in Levittown, where a service will be held at noon. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem.
    The family suggests contributions to Faith Reformed Church, Box 490, Levittown, Pa. 19058.

    Georgine M. Wetzel, age 84, of Levittown, passed away on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at St. Mary Medical Center, Langhorne. Born in Ashland, Pa., she has been a Levittown resident for the past 52 years. Mrs. Wetzel was a registered nurse, graduating from Ashland State Hospital where she began her nursing career. After moving to Levittown, she was employed as a night supervisor at Delaware Valley Hospital, Bristol, then was a Director of Nursing at Statesman Nursing Home, Levittown and retired from Eastern State School and Hospital. Mrs. Wetzel was a proud member of the Happy Hookers (crocheting club), the Seasoned Travelers Club, where she was currently serving as President and the Red Hatters Society.
    Wife of the late Ralph S. Wetzel, Sr., she is survived by her children, Ralph S. Wetzel, Jr. (Linda Jones), of Fieldsboro, NJ, and Sandra Ennis (Alan Lombardi) of Tullytown, Pa, 6 grandchildren, Jared Ennis, Monica Becker, Robyn Checque, Matthew Wetzel, Kristy Wetzel and Chris Sorensen, 3 great-grandchildren, Ian Checque, Emily Becker, and Nolan Checque, an uncle, Joseph Delago, of Marlton, NJ, along with many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Robert Rosti, Elizabeth Woodward, Anna Colahan, and Margaret Smith

Wetzel Jr. and his wife Diane, of Lansdale; five grandsons; one brother, William Wetzel and his wife Joan, of Burlington, N.J; and three sisters, Rose Horbach, of Gordon, Josephine Lynch of Jersey City, N.J. and Janet Michael of Gilroy, Calif.
    He was preceded in death by four brothers, Henry, Paul, Carl, and Ralph; two sisters Mary Jane and Jean; and one grandson.
