  Ralph M. Klinger Jr., 82, of Lewisburg, a former longtime resident of Shamokin, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015. He was born Nov. 9, 1933, in Shamokin, the son of the late Ralph and Sarah (McClain) Klinger. Ralph was a 1951 graduate of Shamokin High School and a graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute of Bridgeport, Conn. He served two years in the Army during the Korean War and was discharged in January 1955 at Fort Bragg, N.C. He was employed as an aircraft inspector at the Olmstead Air Force Base in Middletown until its closing in 1966. He then became a quality assurance specialist for the procurement division of the U.S. Department of Defense. Ralph served in a variety of supervisory and staff positions throughout the Northeast. He retired in 1988 as chief of technical services for the Philadelphia region. He was a long-term resident of Shamokin. He is survived by nieces, Susan Kemp, of Philadelphia, and Pamela Siren, of North Wales. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Roberta E. Siren. Funeral arrangements will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ralph’s memory may be made to the Shamokin-Coal Township Public Library, 210 E. Independence St., Shamokin, PA 17872.
