    Kimber R. Hoffman, age 72, of Sunbury passed away Thursday, Sept.17, 2020, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born in Danville on Dec. 4, 1947, the son of the late Charles J. and Ruth E. (Hovenstine) Hoffman. He married Karen D. Klinger on Sept.12, 1965.
    Kimber held several different jobs throughout his life, starting at Custard Cup and retiring as a member of the Teamsters Union as a truck driver. He ran a deer processing business called PK Farms for over 30 years.
    Kimber enjoyed coaching youth sports such as baseball, football, and wrestling. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed traveling and vacationing with his wife and friends.
    Kimber was a member of the United Lutheran Church in Sunbury, American Legion Post 201, East Ends Hose Company, Sunbury Social Club, Fraternal Order of Eagles 503, Union County Sportsman Club, Masonic Lodge 22, amongst others.
    Kimber is survived by his wife, Karen (Klinger), daughter JoAnne and her husband, Elden Bloom, daughter Paula Stellfox and partner Chris Brown, and son Shane and his wife Kristina; also, six grandchildren, ShAnne Hoffman, Nickolis Bloom, Dylan Stellfox, Angela Dorsey, Valerie Bloom, and Alexis Margel and six great-grandchildren.
    In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made towards the services.
    Friends may call on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 5 p.m.

    ELYSBURG - Harry A. "Bud" Haas, 80, of 5 S. Maple St., formerly of RR1 Klingerstown, died at 1:54 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2005, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland, where he had been a patient since April 25.
    He was born Dec. 31, 1924, in RR1 Klingerstown, a son of the late Harry C. and Helen L. (Erdman) Haas.
    Mr. Haas was a 1941 graduate of Hegins Township High School.
    He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army as a staff sergeant in the 101st Airborne Division, the "Screaming Eagles." He fought in the Battle of the Bulge and the D-Day Invasion. He was awarded four bronze stars for heroic or meritorious achievement, the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, American Campaign Medal, Dutch Orange Lanyard, Belgian Fouragere and European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal.
    Mr. Haas was a retired chicken farmer and co-owner and operator of the former Haas Brothers Feed Mill, RR1 Klingerstown.
    He was a lifelong member of Salem United Church of Christ Church, Klingerstown, where he was a former deacon, elder, and Sunday school superintendent.
    Mr. Haas was also a member of Disabled American Veterans, and the Veterans and Foreign Wars and American Legion, both of Valley View.
    He was an avid Phillies fan, enjoyed playing cards, and visited the sick.
    Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and Larry Klouser of Valley View, and Joanne and Larry Snyder of RR1 Pitman; one son, William Haas of RR2 Elysburg; five grandchildren, Jessica Klouser, Jennifer and her husband Randolph Wehry Jr., Aaron and Lydia Snyder, and Andrew Haas; and two great-granddaughters, Grace and Emma Wehry.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald E. Haas, who died in 1993.
    Visitors may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Salem United Church of Christ Church, 11 Church Road, Klingerstown. The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church by the Rev. Mark Rothermel.
    Burial, with military honors, will be in Salem Cemetery, Klingerstown.
    Memorial contributions may be made to Salem United Church of Christ Church Memorial Fund, c/o church parsonage, 1128 Ridge Road, Klingerstown, PA 17941.

    Salesman
    KLINGERSTOWN Donald E. Haas, 70, of Klingerstown RD1 died at 8 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10: 1993, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, He had been ill for 18 months.
    Born Dec. 6, 1922, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Harry C. and Helen (Erdman) Haas. He was married to the former LaRae Heim. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in August.
    Mr. Haas was a 1939 graduate of Hegins Township High School. He was an area regional feed service salesman for Farm Bureau for 36 years and later was employed by Agway, Inc., before retiring in 1988.
    He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ and secretary-treasurer of the Salem Cemeeiy Association, both of Klingerstown RD1; Free and Accepted Masons Valley Lodge No. 797, Valley View; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and the Shrine, both of Harrisburg; Tall Cedars Lodge of Millersburg; Mahantongo Fire Company; Pitman, where he had served as a trustee for many years; and the Klingerstown Fire Company. He was a former Schuylkill County Republican committeeman.
    In addition to his wife, he is survived by one brother, Harry A. of Pitman RDI, and several nieces and nephews.
    A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Salem United Church of Christ, Klingerstown RD1, by the Revs. Lance Mills. Kevin and Maureen Duffy-Guy.
    A private funeral will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, Pitman RD1.
    Contributions in his memory may be made to Salem United Church of Christ Church, RD1, Klingerstown 17941, or to Professional Hospice Care, One Norwegian Plaza, Suite 250; Pottsville 17901.
