    Body Of Missing Hegins Man Found In Automobile
    A Hegins man, despondent since the suicidal death of his father-in- law about two months ago, ended his life by carbon monoxide, the same method being used in both deaths. Daniel M, Koppenhaver, 24, was found dead in his auto about a quarter mile south of Sacramento Sunday afternoon by a relative, Elwood Koppenhaver, of Spring Glen.
    Police said a garden hose attached to the exhaust pipe enter ed the car through a rear window vent. All other windows were closed. The body was found in the rear seat.
    Police said Elwood Koppenhaver and other members of the family conducted a search of the Hegins area Saturday night when Daniel failed to return home' after he showed the garden hose to his father and proclaimed his intentions of ending his life. Family members said he had made these threats previously. Koppenhaver's father-in-law, Ralph Miller, took his life the same way, police said.
    Koppenhaver is survived by his wife, Laura; his parents, Mr and Mrs. Ira. Koppenhaver ol Spring ulen: three children, all at home four sisters, Mrs. Marvin Artz, Williamstown; Mrs. David Schaeffer, of Tower City; Mrs. Romame Wise, of Elizabeth ville, and Mrs. Floyd Reppert, of Hamburg; and five brothers, among them Warren, of Pitman.
    Funeral services will be held Thursday., afternoon at 2 o'clock from the H. E. Miller funeral home, Valley View. Services will be conducted In. the'Evangelical United Brethren Church, Valley View, by Kev. H. M. Mentzer and Rev. Kenneth Sharpe. Burial will be in Hegins cemetery.

    Surviving are her daughters, Leslieann and her husband, Steven Rehm of Harrisburg, and Diane and her husband, Michael Calhoun of Dover, PA; brothers, Ceylon and his wife, Eleanor Koppenhaver of Hamburg, PA and Albert Bohr of State College, PA; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie and Kimberly Rehm and Mandy and Mindy Davis.
    A visitation will be Monday evening August 18, 2008 from 7-9 p.m., at the Neill Funeral Home, Inc., 3501 Derry Street, Harrisburg. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

    He was the husband of Eleanor E. (Boyer) Koppenhaver, to whom he was married for 61 years. Born in Spring Glen, Schuylkill Co., he was the son of the late Ira C. and Ida E. (Schwalm) Koppenhaver.
    He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.
    Ceylon worked for thirty-five years for Dana Corporation, retiring March 1, 1990. He then drove van for the Laurel Center, Hamburg, for six years.
    Ceylon attended The Bridge Church, Hamburg. He loved Jesus and going to sing in other churches. Ceylon and his wife would participate in prison ministry. They were always helping people in need.
    He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fishing, baseball and traveling.
    Surviving, in addition to his wife, is one daughter, Donna L. (Koppenhaver), wife of Donald E. Hoshauer, Windsor Twp; three grandchildren: Heidi (Hoshauer), wife of Chad Zeigler; Heather (Hoshauer), wife of Mark Kessler; and D.J. Hoshauer, and his wife, Becky; and seven great-grandchildren: Taylor, Summer, Aiden, Leah, Cason, Kaylee and Autumn.
    Ceylon was predeceased by a great-grandson, Chase Zeigler; six brothers: Ira, Warren, Ernest, Calvin, Daniel, and a stillborn brother; and four sisters: Arlene, Ruby, Anna and Mary.
    Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 a.m. from The Bridge Church, 3561 Old 22, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

    Marilyn was a graduate of the Philadelphia School of the Deaf.
    She was a seamstress for area garment factories prior to her retirement.
    Marilyn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, cooking, and baking.
    She is survived by her husband Harold R Updegrave, to whom she was married for 62 years.
    She is also survived by four brothers, Bruce Klinger of Valley View, Ronald Klinger of Lincoln, Robert Klinger of Shillington, and Mark Klinger of Williamstown; a sister, Joan Stiely of Dornsife; and several nieces and nephews.
    Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
    Burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View.

He was a member of Susquehanna Lodge F&AM No 364, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, and a member of the former Boat Club of Millersburg.
    He was the husband of 63 years of Dorothy C. (Smith) Klinger.
    In addition to his wife he is survived by his daughter Mae Shade and her husband Leroy of Millersburg, grandson Jeffrey Shade and his wife Shelby of Millersburg, granddaughter Julie Deppen and her husband Scott of Halifax, and great grandchildren Courtney, Seth, and Connor, sister Betty Erdman of Erdman and a brother Charles D. Klinger of Erdman. He was preceded in death by sisters Catherine Kissinger and Isabel Oxenrider.
    The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 15 from 10-10:30 am at the Chapel at the Manor at Susquehanna Village. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am in the Chapel, with burial to follow at Riverview Memorial Gardens in Halifax.

    She enjoyed baking and quilting and spending time with her family.
    Betty is survived by two sons Lamar E., husband of Karen Erdman, of Sacramento, PA; Randy L., husband of Jane Erdman, of Ashland, PA; a daughter, Sharon Strohecker, wife of Leonard, Jr of Erdman; She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles D. Klinger, of Erdman. She was preceded in death by siblings Catherine Kissinger, Floyd Klinger and Isabelle Oxenrider.
    Viewing will be held on Tuesday February 18, 2014 from 9-11 AM at Zion Lutheran Church, Erdman where the funeral service will follow at 11 AM with Rev. Jonathan Jenkins officiating.
