     Ralph Raymond Klinger is also referred to as Ralph H. Klinger in some sources.1 He was born on 6 April 1909, Schuylkill County, PA.2 He was the son of William Oscar Klinger and Mabel Pearl Klinger. Ralph Raymond Klinger was baptized on 31 May 1909, St. Michael's Church, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.3 He married Hilda S. Mattern, daughter of Samuel H. Mattern and Lizzie S. Reiner, on 26 August 1933, St. Michael's Church, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.4 At the time of the 1940 Census, Ralph and Hilda were living in Upper Mahanoy Township, Northumberland County, PA, where they were farming.5 Ralph Raymond Klinger died on 11 May 1985, Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, Montour County, PA, at age 76.6,1

Ralph R. Klinger, Klingerstown area, died at 9:12 a.m. Saturday in Geisinger Medical Center where he was a patient for two weeks.
He was born in Klingerstown area, April 6, 1909, a son of the late William O. and Pearl Mabel Klinger Klinger.
He was a farmer and retired in 1976.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leck Kill, Klingerstown Fire Company, Pennsylvania Farmers' Association and National Farmers' Union.
He was married to the former Hilda S. Mattern at Leck Kill on Aug. 26, 1933.
He was preceded in death by a son, Lamar, Feb. 17, 1974.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Bryant and Ernest, both of Klingerstown area; two daughters, Rachel Hepler, Pitman area and Susie, at home; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Wolfgang, Herndon area, Lucy Clark, Valley View, and Eva Brown, Leck Kill; four brothers, Homer, Mount CarmeL Ray, Leck Kill, PauL Klingerstown, and Guy, Sunbury area.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John's Lutheran Church with the Rev. Paul Fisher officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

     Hilda S. Mattern was born on 6 January 1914, RR1, Dornsife, Northumberland County, PA.1 She was the daughter of Samuel H. Mattern and Lizzie S. Reiner. Her married name was Klinger. Hilda S. Mattern married Ralph Raymond Klinger, son of William Oscar Klinger and Mabel Pearl Klinger, on 26 August 1933, St. Michael's Church, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.2 Hilda S. Mattern died on 11 November 2000, Community Hospital, Sunbury, Northumberland County, PA, at age 86.1

Hilda S. Klinger
Hilda S. Klinger, 86, formerly of RR1 Klingerstown, died Saturday evening at Sunbury Community Hospital Sunbury, where she had been a patient since Nov. 7. She had lived at the Mansion Nursing Home, Sunbury, since September 1997.
Born at RR1 Dornsife, Jan. 6, 1914, she was a daughter of the late Samuel H. and Lizzie S. Reiner Mattern. She was educated in Upper Mahanoy Township schools.
She and her husband, Ralph R., who died May 11, 1985, owned and operated a dairy farm at RR1 Klingerstown, for many years.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Leck Kill, and was a former Sunday school teacher. She was preceded in death by a son, Lamar R., Feb. 17, 1974; two sisters, Dorothy Minnich, on May 27, 1997, Mildred Kahler, on May 1; two brothers, Leon Mattern, on Oct. 12, 1976, and Willard S. Mattern, on Jan. 24, 1994.
Surviving are two sons, Bryant R. and Ernest L, both of RR1 Klingerstown; two daughters, Rachel O. Hepler, RR1 Pitman, and Susie E. Reeder, Sunbury; a brother, Lawrence L Mattern, RR1 Dornsife; 13 grandchildren; a stepgranddaughter; 12 greatgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; six stepgreat-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from St. John's Lutheran Church. The Revs. Sarah Stumme and Rev. John Berg will officiate. Interment will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, Leck Kill. Stephen R. Rothermel Funeral Home, RR1 Klingerstown, is in charge of arrangements.

     Lucy Alvena Klinger is also referred to as Lucie in some sources.1 She was born on 7 November 1915.1,2 She was baptized on 5 January 1916, St. Michael's Church, Klingerstown, Schuylkill County, PA.1 Some sources record that Lucy Alvena Klinger was born on 7 November 1916. She was the daughter of William Oscar Klinger and Mabel Pearl Klinger. Lucy Alvena Klinger married Fred Jay Clark, son of Henry Preston Clark and Ida Louisa Schwalm.3 Her married name was Clark.3 Lucy Alvena Klinger died on 2 January 2007, at the home of her daughter, Hegins, Schuylkill County, PA, at age 90.2

Lucy Alvena Clark, 91, of 525 Chestnut St., Hegins. died Tuesday at the home of her daughter.
Born in Klingerstown, Nov. 7, 1915, she was a daughter of the late William Oscar and P. Mabel (Klinger) Klinger.
She provided child care for area families for 34 years.
She was of the Protestant faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Clark, in 1969; a son, Jackie L. Clark; four brothers, Ralph, Homer, Ray and Edwin Klinger; three sisters, Stella Klinger, Winnie Strohecker and Helen Wolfgang.
Surviving are a daughter, Anna G., wife of Clyde Miller, Hegins; a son, Paul M. Clark, Grantville; two grandsons, Steven C. Miller, Hegins, and Phillip Clark, Thousand Oaks, Calif; a granddaughter, Sonya A. Herring, Valley View; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva Brown, Leck Kill; two brothers, Paul Klinger, Gratz, and Guy Klinger, Danville.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from Buffington-Reed Funeral Home, Valley View, with the Rev. Philip Sabas and Pastor Brad Hatter officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pinnacle Health Hospice, 301 One Norwegian Plaza, Pottsville, PA 17901. Interment will be in St. Andrew Cemetery, Valley View.
