  SHILLINGTON -- Dorothy M. Barry, 85, of 34D W. Broad Shillington, died Monday, Aug. 22, 1994, at 12:50 p.m. in the Reading Nursing Center, where she had been a guest since Wednesday.
  Born March 5, 1909, in Hazleton, she was a daughter of the late Henry A. and Esther A. (Graver) Wetten.
  She was a housewife all her life.
  She was a member of the Atonement Lutheran Church, Wyomissing.
  In addition to her husband, Robert E. Barry she is survived by four sons; Robert E. Jr. of Hamburg RD2, George Gene O. of Wyomissing and Lynn D. of Reading; four daughters, Joan E. Gardner of Summerville, N.C., Beverly A. Kear of Pottsville, Kim S. Suess of Bernville and Linda J. Barry of Wyomissing; 10 grandchildren; 25 greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Oliver Wetton of Watsontown and Harry Wetton of Stuart, two sisters, Marian A. Wetton of Stuart, and Beatrice O. Heiser of Morgantown.
  Services will be private. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reiffton.
  Arrangements were made by the Klee Funeral Home, Shillington.

Updegrove, 57, of 420 Julian St., Williamstown, who died Thursday at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Williamstown, by the Rev. Bernard McGinley. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Corl Funeral Homes Inc., Williamstown, is in charge of arrangements.
  Born in Ashland, Sept. 28, 1937, he was a son of the late John and Martha Cooper Updegrove.
  He was president of Williamstown Borough Council. He was appointed to council in 1980 and served as president since January 1991.
  He was employed as a mechanic at AMP, Williamstown.
  He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Liberty Hose Company No. 1, Williamstown; Williamstown Legion Home Association; and Williamstown Military Band.
  Surviving are his wife, the former. Patricia McAuliffe; two sons, Richard, Williamstown, and Eric, Hanover; a daughter, Teresa Stahlnecker, Harrisburg; two sisters, Thelma Arnold, Lykens, and Ruth Schucker, Williamstown; three grandsons.
