    Larry D. Cooper, 82, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2019 in the Select Specialty Hospital in Harrisburg with family by his side. He was the husband of JoAnn M. (Hoffman) Cooper. Born May 16, 1937 in Elizabethville, he was the son of the late Harry and Florence (Stoneroad) Cooper.
    Larry was a 1959 graduate of Penn State University and worked for Amp, Inc. as an Industrial Engineer, Systems Manager and in various other technical roles before retiring in 1999. Larry was a natural athlete who excelled at sports, especially basketball, baseball, and softball. He was a member of the 1955 State Championship American Legion Baseball Team and played in basketball leagues well into his 60's. Larry also enjoyed Penn State Football and the Philadelphia Phillies Baseball team. After his retirement, Larry enjoyed carpentry, gardening, travel and spending time with his family.
    Larry is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, JoAnn; sons, Kirby D. and wife Bonnie of Durham, NC, Richard D. and wife Leslie of Apex, NC; daughter Kathryn A. Light and husband Gregory of Macungie, PA; grandchildren Rachel, Matthew, Rebekah, Sarah, Jessica, Ethan, Danielle, Joshua, and Jacob; great grandchildren Claire and Bogue. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by step-brother, Ronald Cooper, step-sister, Sandra Romberger, and step-mother Faye G. (Cook) Cooper.
    A Celebration of Larry's Life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at 4PM in the Hershey Free Church, 330 Hilltop Road, Hummelstown, PA 17036. Private interment will take place in the Hershey Cemetery.

    He was a carpenter and an employee of L F Temps Inc., Camp Hill; a Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War; and a member of VFW Post 5507, American Legion Post 326 and Lower Mahanoy Fire Company, Dalmatia.
    Surviving are his wife, Dorothea M. Stoneroad; a son, Army Pvt. Ray E.
