    Geraldine M. (Maurer) Wurtz, 77, of 420 W. Eighth St., Hazleton, died Wednesday morning at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
    Born in White Haven, Feb. 2, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Martha (Hartung) Morshing, and lived most of her life in Hazleton and Reading.
    She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Hazleton.
    Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, were her first husband, RayL. Maurer, in 1952; her second husband, Donald G. Wurtz, 1993; a son, Donald Wurtz Jr., 1995; a brother, Carl Morshing; and a sister, Mary Lou Evanko.
    Surviving are her children, Ray L. Maurer Jr., and his wife, Cathy, Iowa; William A. Maurer, and his wife, Christine, Whitehall; Ronald L. Maurer Sr., and his wife, Pamela, West Chester; Marilyn Fisher, Beaver Meadows; and David L. Wurtz, Hazleton.
    In addition, she is survived by a sister, Catherine Perch, Hatfield; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
    The viewing is to be held Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. from Rosenstock Funeral Home, Hazleton. Services will be held Saturday morning at 1 1 a.m. at Ss. Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, Eighth and Alter streets, Hazleton.
    Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.

    Born on September 6, 1961 in Pottsville, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Irene Athey Barry.
    She was a 1980 graduate of Pine Grove High School.
    Lori was a CNA in home health and a caretaker for her beloved grandchildren.
    Preceding her in death was a brother, Michael Barry.
    Surviving are her husband of 18 years, Joseph Svrcek; a son, Michael Jr. and wife Mary Schneck of Lebanon; a daughter, Angela and husband TJ Hartranft of Newmanstown; five grandchildren, Margaret Schneck, Briana Schneck, Mitchell Frederick, Madison Hartranft, and Malaya Hartranft; a sister, Trudy Bullard of NC; five brothers, Elmer Barry of New Providence, Daryl Barry of Harrisburg, David Barry of Tremont, Charles Barry and Mark Barry, both of Pine Grove.
