    Scott J. Harman, 71, of Enola, passed away Sunday morning, October 23, 2022 at his home, three weeks after a diagnosis of advanced metastatic cancer.
    Born in Harrisburg, November 11, 1950, a son of the late Joseph Sr. and Theresa James Harman. Scott was a 1968 graduate of Williams Valley High School and a 1972 graduate of Penn State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in education. Scott served with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard for six years.
    In 1973 he began his teaching career at Halifax School District, where he taught 5th grade for 35 years, retiring in 2008. He started coaching baseball in 1976 and was the Halifax head coach from 1984 to 1986. Scott was very appreciative towards the Halifax School District for all the many opportunities provided to him. He co-taught TESA (Teacher Expectations and Student Achievement), being a mentor to new teachers in the district. He also served on multiple school related committees. Scott's greatest passion was teaching, and he will be remembered for his dedication to his students.
    Scott took great pride in his hometown of Wiconisco. He was a coach for the Wiconisco Teener League and enjoyed helping with the Wiconisco Boy Scouts. Scott also was a member and sat on the Board of Trustees for the Wiconisco High School Alumni Scholarship Foundation.
    He enjoyed traveling, fishing, going to the beach, exploring, and constantly learning. He made yearly trips to Ocean City, Maryland and several trips to the Outer Banks. Scott was a member of Susquehanna Ski Club and traveled to Italy and Greece with them. He also made trips to Denmark, Sweden, Germany, Canada, Mexico, Alaska, and even drove across the United States on two occasions. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida but always looked forward to the different seasons in Pennsylvania. Scott loved life and lived it to the fullest.
    In addition to his parents, Scott was preceded in death by a sister, Renee Smeltz.
    Surviving are Scott's brother, Joseph Harman Jr. (Deb), Wiconisco; two sisters, Jan Harman, Wiconisco, and Sarina Schaeffer (Scot), Halifax; his partner of twelve years, Jane Havnaer, Florida; his goddaughter Ava Zerbe; numerous nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11 AM from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Burial will be in the Calvary Cemetery, Wiconisco. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 at the chapel.

    Services for Homer R. Morgan Sr., 74, of Hegins area, who died Sunday in Pottsville Hospital, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View. The Rev. Dr. Donald Fishel will officiate. Interment will be in St. Andrew's Cemetery, Valley View. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
    Mr. Morgan was born in Hegins Township Aug. 18, 1912, a son of the late David and Francis Boyer Morgan.
    He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View Fire Company and Valley View Gun Club.
    Mr. Morgan was a retired miner.
    His wife, the former Helen Bixler, died in 1974. A son, Ronald, died in 1962 and a son, Ray, died in 1971.
    Surviving are six sons, Homer Jr. and William, both of Valley View, John, Tower City, Dale and Thomas, both of Hegins area and Dennis, Gordon; three daughters, Patricia Neumeister, Ashland area, Carol Dietrich, Williamstown, and Shirley Wolfe, Hegins area; 34 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Herman, Donaldson; five sisters, Carrie Harman, Valley View, Reba Hoffman, Klingerstown, Mildred Kroh, Hegins, Edith Sallada, Lebanon, and Florence Spicher, Tremont.
