    JANET S., 87 years old, of West Palm Beach, FL, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2003, after an extended illness. Born in Annville, PA, on June 6, 1916, she was the daughter of William U. and Mabel Shaud. In 1937 she graduated from the Hahnemann Hospital, School of Nursing, Phila., PA and practiced for 12 years as an Obstetrics Nurse at the Haverford Hospital in Havertown, PA. She continued her nursing career at the Palm Beach Gardens Hospital in Palm Beach Gardens, FL for 8 years before retiring in 1980. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Patricia DeSantis (husband, Conrad) of North Palm Beach, FL, India Ingargiola of France and Terry Ariano (husband, Lowry Hamner) of Holme, NY, her son Nicholas W. Ariano (wife, Clare) of Lansdowne, PA, and her brother, William L. Shaud (wife, Carolyn) of Allentown, PA; also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a niece and 2 nephews. Services will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to either the Lourdes-Noreen McKeen Residence, 315 S.     Rev. William L. Shaud
    The Rev. William L. Shaud, 78, of Alentown, formerly of Breinigsville and South Pottstown, Chester County, died Sept. 22 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was married to Carolyn J. (Sanders) Shaud for 56 years last January.
    He was pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, South Pottstown, for 32 years before retiring in 1988. Previously he served eight years in the then joint parishes of St. Paul, Sassamansville, and St. Luke, Gilbertsville, Montgomery County. A 1945 graduate of Muhlenberg College, he was ordained after graduating from the Lutheran Seminary in Mount Airy.
    Born in Annville, Lebanon County, he was a son of the late William U. and Mabel A. (Klinger) Shaud.
    He was a member of the Cedar Lutheran Church, Cetronia.
    Survivors: Wife: sons, William L. Jr. of Bethlehem, Stephen J. of Easton, daughter, Susan S. Wilson of East Stroudsburg; six grandchildren.
    Services: memorial, 1 p.m. Saturday. Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St.. Allentown. Call noon to 1 p.m. Saturday.

She was very active in St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pottstown, where her husband was pastor for 32 years. She love knitting, needlepoint, reading and keeping close contact with family members. She was a loving mother, grandmother and a dedicated Christian. Survivors: Sons, William L Jr. and wife Carol A. of Bethlehem, Stephen J. and wife Maria S. of Easton; daughter, Susan S. wife of Robert E.     Dean Gundy Stiickler, 65, of State College, a Union County native, died unexpectedly today at 1:35 a.m. at his home; Although in poor health for the past several weeks, his death was sudden and unexpected.
    A native of Union County, he was born in Mifflinburg, a son of the late Jacob P. S. and Mary Jane Wolfe Strickler.
    He and his wife, Ruth M. the former Ruth M. Klinger, who survives, had resided in State College for the past three years, he was employed as a construction engineer by the Fortunato Construction Company, of New York City.
    A graduate of Penn State with the class of 1925, he owned and operated a consulting engineering firm in Washington, D.C., from 1946 to 1966.
    He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, State College.
    Besides his widow, he is sur vived by three sons. Dean, Jr., of Portsmouth, Va; Jack D., of Washington, D.C.: and Richard M., of Lynchburg, Va. Ten grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 2 p.m. from the Gary H. Cronrath funeral home, S. Second and St. Louis Sts., Lewisburg, with his pastor, Rev. Harry Smyser, officiating.
    Interment will be m the Lewisburg Cemetery.
    Friends will be received at the Cronrath funeral home Thursday evening.

    NORFOLK, VA. - Dean G. Strickler Jr., 53, formerly of Norfolk, Va., died June 19 in the Eastern State Hospital, Williamsburg, Va. He had been hospitalized for one month.
    Born Dec. 27, 1928, in Coudersport, Potter County, he was a son of Ruth Klingler [Klinger] Strickler of State College, and the late Dean Gundy Strickler Sr.
    Mr. Strickler was employed as a maintenance foreman in Norfolk before becoming ill.
    He served in the U.S. Navy Air Force from 1946 to 1949.
    Mr. Strickler was of the Lutheran faith.
    In addition to his mother, he is survived by the following children, Sandra Strickler, Dean' Strickler, and Mary Ellen Strickler, all of Virginia Beach, Va., and Robert Dale Strickler of Norfolk, Va; and two brothers, Jack D. Strickler of Largo, Md., and Richard M. Strickler of Merrimack, N.H.
    A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 2 p.m. in Ihe Lewisburg Cemetery, by Rev. Steven Mld-dernacht, pastor of Christ's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Lewisburg. Funeral arrangements were made by the Gary H. Cronrath Funeral Home, Lewisburg.
