    Michael K. Golden, 38, of Tower City, passed away Wednesday evening at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon, after a courageous battle with a five-month illness.
    Born in Pottsville, Aug. 27, 1978, he was a son of Kenneth and Stephanie Klinger Golden, Tower City.
    He attended Williams Valley High School, and was a truck driver with A&S Services/Big Lots, Tremont.
    Mike was a member of the Reinerton Fire Company.
    He was known as a jack of all trades, always willing to lend a hand whenever needed. He enjoyed working on cars. His greatest joys in his life were being with his children, whom he adored.
    Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his wife, Cory L. Messick Golden; two children, Kristen and Alan Golden, both at home; two sisters, Shelly Slough, Williamstown, and Dawn Shutt, Tower City; aunts, including Liza Klinger, who was very special to Mike, uncles, nieces and nephews.
    A celebration of Mike's life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the Chapel of Dimon Funeral Home, Tower City. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Dimon Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 644 E. Grand Ave., Tower City, PA 17980, to help with expenses.

    Widow, Six Children Survive Williamstown Auto Victim
    Ralph Artz, 46, of 464 E. Market st., Williamstown, was instantiy killed Friday afternoon near Keffers when the sedan he was operating was demolished in a collision with a coal truck owned by Geo. H. Huss, of Centralia, and operated by Ira Oxenrider, of Tower City. He was dead when removed from the wreckage. He received a skull fracture and numerous other injuries. Dr. Simonis, of Tremont, was summoned and pronounced Artz dead. Deputy Coroner Gable, if Valley View, investigated and will arrange for an inquest.
    Pine Grove State Police who investigated the accident said Oxenrider was traveling east on the Good Spring-Keffers highway which connects with Route 209. Artz with his sedan and alone came out of a side road not far from the main highway intersection and according to the police ran in front of the truck. The impact was terrifice, with the sedan practically demolished. Oxenrider after being questioned was let go pending the outcome of the inquest. Artz's body was released for burial to Tuneral director Ralph of Williamstown.
    He was born June 19, 1899 at Spring Glen, a son of the late Irvin and Jennie Coleman Artz; but resided in Williamstown the past 29 years. He was night foreman at an independent coal operation, and was a member of the Trevprton Gun Club.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Catherine Lesher; three sons, Leroy, with the Army in the South Pacific; Elvin, with the Army in California; and Marlin, at home; three daughters, Mrs. Orval Koppenhaver, Williamstown; Dorothy and Pauline at home. There is one brother, Ivan of Spring Glen; one sister, Mrs. Chas. Herb.Spring Glen; and five grandchildren.
    His funeral will take place Tuesday afternoon from the Dodson Chapel, Williamstown. Serv ices will be conducted by Rev. Lloyd Beamsderfer of the United Brethren Churchy and interment will be in the Methodist Cemetery.
