    Guy Artz Rites
    Funeral of Guy R. Artz, 66, of Hegins, who died early Saturday afternoon at Good Samaritan Hospital, will be held Wednesday morning from Frieden's Lutheran Church, Hegins. Rev. Ralph W. Bagger, pastor, will officiate. Interment in Frieden's United Cemetery, Hegins. Buffington Funeral Service, Valley View, has charge.
    A native of Taylorsville, Mr. Artz was a son of the late Aaron and Mary Bower Artz. He was graduated from Hegins High School in 1915, and Keystone State Normal School, Kutztown, did graduate work at Muhlenburg and Lebanon Colleges and Penn State Universtiry. Mr. Artz taught in the Hegins Township Schools and Tri-Valley School Districts for 47 years, until his retirement in 1965.
    An active member of Frieden's Lutheran Church, Hegins, Mr. Artz was a member of the Church Council for 40 years. He was chairman of the 145th Anniversarv Committee, in 1961 and was elected to the same post for the 150th Anniversary committee, this year. Mr. Artz served as Sunday School superintendent for many years and was a member of the Board of Directors of Frieden's Union Cemetery. He was also a member of the Heg ins Grange, of which he was a master for many years, and P. O. S. of A. Lodge, Hegins.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Ethel Huntzinger; two sons, Blair, Hegins, Donald, Riverside, Calif; two sisters, Blanche Artz and Mrs. Elsie Klinger, both of Hegins RD2, and seven grandchildren.
