    Esther M. Renninger, 93, of Newtown, passed away Sunday afternoon at Schuylkill Medical Center–East Norwegian Street.
    Born in Stanhope, she was a daughter of the late James and Susie Eidem Schneck.
    She was educated in the Stanhope schools.
    Esther was a member of Freidens Lutheran Church, Llewellyn.
    She and her husband, Earl, were owners of the Renninger Transportation Company.
    Esther devoted all her time to her family. She was a beloved wife, mother and sister who will be greatly missed.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl, in 2009; two great-grandchildren, William Hunter Renninger and Zachary Koch; three brothers, Lee, Elvin and Charles Schneck; five sisters, Pauline Morgan, Betty Mizisko, Ruth Moyer, Gladys Kilmer and Hattie Renninger.
    Surviving are a daughter, Kay Koch and her husband, Lester, Newtown; two sons, Dale and his wife, Dolly, Rock, and William and his wife, Deborah, Newtown; six grandchildren, Steve, Brenda, Brett, Brad, Heath and Amie; 10 great-grandchildren, Emma, Ashley, Steven, David, Ryan, Kaylee, Justin, Jenna, Matthew, Casey and Kamryn; two great-great grandchildren, Richard and Jace; three brothers, James Schneck, Jonestown, Roy Schneck, Lebanon, and Donald Schneck, Schuylkill Haven; to sisters, Mary Clay, Hamburg, and Annie Fessler, Rock; nieces and nephews.
    A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Freidens Lutheran Church, Llewellyn, with the Rev. Robert Reier officiating. Relatives and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Donald J. Butler Funeral Home, 328 Sunbury St., Minersville, and from 8 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
    The family would prefer remembrances in the form of contributions in memory of Esther to the Hunter William Renninger Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Schuylkill Area Community Foundation, 216 S. Centre St., Pottsville, PA 17901. Contributions will also be accepted at the funeral home.

    Oscar Wetzel, 82, of Hometown, passed away Monday at home.
    Born in Hegins, he was a son of the late Harry and Matie Wetzel.
    He was a member of Bear's Head Sportsman's Association and was a former member of the Hometown Fire Company.
    Oscar was manager of the Hometown Farmer's Market, Hometown, for 58 years, retiring in 1993.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Renninger Wetzel, in 1985.
    Surviving are a son, William A. Wetzel and his wife, JoAnn, Hometown; a daughter, Carol M. Hill and her husband, Edward, Lehighton; a son, Wade C. Wetzel and his wife, Peggy Coaldale; a son, Michael J. Wetzel, Lansford; a son, Danny R. Wetzel and his wife, Christina, Mahanoy City; a daughter, Nancy Paisley and her husband, Karl, Tamaqua; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
