  Harvey Victor Huntzinger, 79, of Hegins, died early Thursday morning in his home after an illness of four weeks.
  Born at Hegins Oct. 5, 1885, Mr. Huntzinger was married to the former Katie Maus, who died in 1960. His parents were the late James and Catherine Herb Huntzinger.
  Prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Co.
  He was a member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins, and a member-at-large of Shamokin Council POS of A.
  Surviving are these children: Harl of Alenatorda, New Mexico; Irvin, Beatrice, wife of Guy Schrope and Flossie, wife of Harold Scheib, all of Hegins; Rosa, wife of Arthur Shade of Valley View, Catherine, wife of Luther Klinger of Hegins, Anna, wife of Robert Schwartz of Lykens RD, Mary, wife of Clervin Miller an25 March 1965 James, both of Hegins.
  Funeral will be held Sunday afternoon from Friedens Lutheran Church, Hegins. Interment will be in Friedens Union Cemetery. Hegins. The Rev. Ralph W. Bagger will officiate at services. Buffington Funeral Home, Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.

• She was the daughter of John Francis H. Long and Sarah Jane Ressler.^3,4
• According to her newspaper obituary, she was adopted at an early age by Mr. and Mrs. Francis Long, of Hegins. The 1900 Census for Hegins Township, Schuylkill County, lists her as Katie Maus, living in the household of J.F.H. (Francis) Long and his wife Sarah. Katie is listed as his niece, suggesting that she was the daughter of one of Francis's siblings. Katie''s death certificate lists her parents as "unknown."^6,7,8

  Mrs. Katie Huntzinger, 73, wife of Harvey V. Huntzinger of Hegins, died on Sunday afternoon in her home. She had been in ill health for several years, she was bedfast since Thursday.
  Mrs. Huntzinger was born at Gowen on Aug. 23, 1886.
  At an early age she was adopted and reared by the late Mr. and Mrs. Francis Long of Hegins.
  She was a memberer of Friedens Lutheran Church at Hegins.
  Surviving are her husband, and these children: Karl, Irvin, Mrs. Guy Schrope, Mrs. Harold Scheib Mrs. Luther Klinger, Mrs. Clervin Miller and James, all of Hegins; Mrs. Arthur Shade of Valley View and Mrs. Robert Schwartz of Gratz; 22 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren.
  Funeral Thursday morning from Friedens Lutheran Church at Hegins. The Rev. Ralph Bagger will officiate at services. Interment in Union Cemetery at Hegins. Buffington Funeral Home at Valley View, is in charge of arrangements.
