    Mrs. Lillie A. Schoffstall. 74, of Gratz died at the Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital, Wednesday.
    A native of Lykens Township she was born Aug. 5, 1893, a daughter of the late Rufus and Anna Rebuck Willier. She was a member of the Simeon Lutheran and United Church of Christ, Gratz. and the Willing Workers Class of the church.
    She was married to John A Schoffstall who preceded her in death several years ago.
    Surviving are the following children, John A. and Albert Schoffstall. and Mrs. Earl Jur, all of Gratz; Mrs. John Shiffer and Mrs. Arthur Lubold, both of Lykens RD; Stanley Schoffstall, Duncannon; Mrs. Glenn Leitzel, Dallastown and Charles Schoffstall, Philadelphia. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Alice Daniel, Gratz, and a brother, Clayton Willier, Lykens RD.
    Funeral services will be held from Simeon's Lutheran and United Church of Christ, Sunday afternoon at 2 o clock. Rev. James Reed, her pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the Gratz Union Cemetery. Friends will be received by the family at the Marhn S. Reed funeral home, Pillow, Saturday evening from 7 to 9 o'clock and at the church Sunday from 1 p.m. until services.

  • William Schoffstall was born; Both the Comprehennsive History of Gratz and the History of Lykens Township, indicate that Adam and Polly had two additional sons, William and Harry who "died young." This is unclear. No other records for such sons could be located. Both the 1900 and 1910 Census records indicated that Polly was the mother of only 4 children, all of who were then living. If the Census records are correct, then the listing of William and Harry as sons of Adam and Polly is erroneous.2,3,1,4
