Delbert L "Auckie" Artz, 63, of Valley View, died Saturday evening in a traffic accident on Route 25, Reilly Township.
Born in Spring Glen, he was a son of the late Emery and Minnie Wiest Artz.
He was a self-employed retired coal miner.
He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Sacramento, and Valley View Fire Company.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold; two sisters, Marian Lentz and Arlene Artz.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ella Erdman; a daughter, Susanne Cooper, Boca Raton, Fla; a son, Kenneth, Valley View; a stepson, Jim Erdman, Enola; a sister, Jean Harner, Spring Glen; three brothers, John, Hegins, Earl, Mechanicsburg, and Fred, Pottsville; four grandchildren.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday from Robert Miller Funeral Home, Valley View. The Rev. Charles Snyder will officiate. Interment will be in St. Andrew's United Methodist Cemetery, Valley View. There will be no calling hours Tuesday evening.
