HALIFAX - Wilmer J. "Dush" Long, 83 ,of Peter’s Mountain Road, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon.
He was born Monday, June 4, 1923 in Washington Twp, Son of the late John W. Long and the late Mildred M. Harman.
He had worked for Mopac.
He was a World War II Ar my Veteran. He was a mem ber of Salem U.C.C., Eliza bethville; He was well known in the area as a baseball player. He played in the past for the Legion, Gratz and Elizabethville.
Surviving are his wife, Esther E. (Patton) Long; sons, Terry Long, NC, and James, husband of Bonita Long of Halifax; daughter, Carolyn Warfel, wife of Don ald of Halifax; sister, Rebecca Shaffer of Ogden, UT; 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. He was pre ceded in death by a grand son, Chris.
Services will be held at Hoover Funeral Homes, Inc., Elizabethville, Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 11 a.m. Rev. Raymond Hackett will officiate. Interment will fol low at Maple Grove Ceme tery, Elizabethville. Viewing from 10 to 11 AM, Saturday, February 3rd at Hoover Fu neral Homes, Inc.

HALIFAX - Esther E. Long, age 96, of Halifax, Pennsylvania died March 5, 2026, at the UPMC Harrisburg Hospital. She was born on March 2, 1930 and was raised in Fisherville, the daughter of [the late] Norman and Freda (Miller) Patton.
She retired from the dental lab of Muth and Mumma. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her sons, Terry Long and wife Karen of Florida, Jim Long Sr. and wife Bonita of Halifax, and daughter, Carolyn and husband Donald Warfel of Halifax; Grandchildren, Wayne Warfel and wife Janie, Jeff Warfel, Sue Jenkins and husband, Keith, Kevin Long and James Long Jr., and wife Lynn, Steven Long and wife, Sonya; Also surviving are Great Grandchildren Brittany Warfel, Emma Cella and husband, Nick, Hollie Long, Kami and Austin Warfel and Stephanie Long; 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Hannah Wall and Luca Cella; A loving brother, Larry Welker and his wife, Janice.
She leaves behind many caring neighbors and special friend, Sallianne Farner Bechtel.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilmer Long whom she was married to for 61 years; A grandson, Chris Long, and three sisters, Grace Scott, Evie Matter and Jean Miller.
There will be a visitation held at Hoover-Boyer Funeral Homes, Ltd, 103 West Main Street, Elizabethville, PA 17023 on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 10-11 AM. Services will start at 11 AM officiated by Rev. Nancy Brody. Burial will follow the services at Maple Grove Cemetery, North Church Street, Elizabethville, PA 17023.
The family requests that memorial donations may be made to the cemetery at PO Box 577, Elizabethville, PA 17023.
