    EAST BRUNSWICK - John A Williard, 66, of 298 Milltown Road died yesterday in St. Peter's Medical Center, New Brunswick.
    Born in Tower City, Pa , he lived in the area for many years. Prior to his retirement in 1975, be was vice president of the New Brunswick Savings Bank, where he had been employed for 30 years.
    Mr. Williard was a member of New Brunswick Presbyterian Church of New Brunswick, where he served as elder and Sunday school teacher. He also was a member of the Wayfarers Bible Study Group of the church.
    He was a former president of the N.J. State Safe Deposit Association. He was a graduate of the American Institute of Banking. During World War II, he served in the Navy.
    Surviving are his wife, the former Edna Newman; a daughter, Mrs. Judith Hayes of Ripon, Wis; a son, Scott, C of the Somerset section of Franklin: his mother, Mrs. Susan Williard of Renton, Wash; a sister, Mrs. Anna Williamson, also of Renton, and six grandchildren.
    Services on Wednesday will be private. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be announced by the Quackenboss Funeral Home, 156 Livingston Ave., New Brunswick.
    Contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church of New Brunswick.
