    March 30, 1937 - June 11, 2022
Lee Gerald Bixler, 85 of Mountain Road, Hegins, passed away Saturday, June 11, 2022 at home.
He was born on March 30, 1937 in Valley View, a son of the late Lloyd C. and Grace E. Stutzman Bixler.
Lee grew up in Valley View. He started a paper route at age 10 with a bicycle he put together with parts. Lee was a 1955 graduate of the former Hegins Twp High School. He proceeded through life with different occupations and always said he'd like to have his own business. He owned and operated Bixler's Country Meats since 1960 on E Mountain Rd, Hegins and also had a location on Center St, Pottsville for twenty-six years. So, here we are 62 years later and Bixler's Country Meats is still running strong. Even though Lee retired a few years ago, he still went to the shop almost daily. He took the phone calls and did the billing which kept him feeling like he was still a part of his legacy.
He was a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, Valley View.
Lee was also a member of F&AM Valley Lodge #797 Valley View, Harrisburg Consistory, Sacramento Fire Company, and the Meat Processors Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Minerva Bixler, Rojean Boyer, Anna Stutzman, Rhea Miller, and brothers Dean and Ned Bixler.
Lee is survived by his wife Jean E (Wiest) Bixler, to whom he was married for 63 years.
He is also survived by two daughters, Yvonne and husband Kenny Stiely of Hegins, Lori and husband Steve Troyanoski of Sellersville; three grandsons, Derck and Timothy Stiely of Hegins, Michael Troyanoski of Glen Mills; granddaughter, Alison Troyanoski of Philadelphia; 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Per Lee's wishes, private burial will be made in St. Andrew's Cemetery.
Memorial contributions in Lee's name can be made to the Sacramento Fire Company.
