Martha (Marie) Lahr, 93 of Lykens Township passed away on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at Stonebridge Nursing and Rehab, Duncanon. Marie, as she was known by family and friends, was born to the late Harry A. and Lottie L. (Hoffman) Kissinger. Marie enjoyed gardening, quilting, cooking and baking and spending time with her family. She loved taking care of her flowers, especially her violets.
She was a member of Simeon United Lutheran Church in Gratz, PA, where she served as a Sunday School teacher for the Kindergarten class for many years before retiring. She was also a member of the Willing Workers and the Social Ministry Group for many years while attending church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond, to whom she was married for 58 years before he went home to be with Jesus in 2022. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Charles.
She is survived by her daughter, Carol and her husband Daniel Blyler, her son William (Bill) and his wife Janet (Smeltz), her granddaughters, Sara and Katie Blyler, her sister, Edna Ferster, her sister-in-law, Dianna Kissinger, her brother-in-law Norman (Daisy) Lahr, and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Simeon United Lutheran Church.
A viewing will be held on September 26, 2025 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Simeon United Lutheran Church, Gratz. Interment will take place in the Riverview Memorial Gardens, Halifax.3 - She was buried at Riverview Memorial Park, Halifax, Dauphin County, PA.3

Raymond W. Lahr, 86, of Lykens Township, passed away on February 8, 2022, at the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Schuylkill East Campus, Pottsville. He was born in Herndon on November 12, 1935, a son of the late Mary E. and Levi W. H. Lahr. Raymond was a tool maker at Alvord Polk, Millersburg.
He was a member of Calvary Independent Church, Lykens, and Gratz Historical Society. Raymond enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Raymond is survived by his wife Martha Lahr, son, William Lahr and wife Janet; daughter, Carol Blyler and husband Daniel; brother, Norman Lahr, Sr; granddaughters, Sara and Katie Blyler.
A viewing will be held on February 15, 2022 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Calvary Independent Church, Lykens.
