    LEWISBURG - Thomas Klacik, 90, a former resident of Trevorton Road, Shamokin, entered eternal peace on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021. He was a resident of Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, for more than six years.
    Tom was born in Mount Carmel, Nov. 24, 1930, a son of the late John and Barbara (Revis) Klacik. He was the youngest and last surviving member of his family. Brothers John, Andrew, Michael Klacik, and his sister, Anna (Klacik) Dickey all preceded him in death.
    Tom graduated from Mount Carmel High School in 1947.
    He entered the U.S. Army at the age of 17 and served his country in the Korean War as a forward observer from 1948 to 1951. He received a variety of medals, including the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with four bronze service stars, Presidential Unit Citation, United Nations Service Medal, Republic of Korea-Korean Service Medal, and Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.
    Tom was married in 1958, to Esther (Flessatti) who preceded him in death Feb. 7, 2019.
    Upon his discharge from the military, he secured his certificate in public accounting and joined his brother, John, owner of Klacik Accounting, in Shamokin. Following his brother's death, he continued operating the business and was joined by his nephew Andrew Klacik and son, Jeffrey, CPA. The family practice became Klacik and Associates, P.C. and maintains offices in Shamokin, Sunbury and Baltimore.
    Tom worked tirelessly in the accounting field for more than 60 years until he was 84 years old. Although a major stroke abruptly removed him from his business, he was known to continue giving tax and accounting advise to his clients, employees and the staff at Buffalo Valley.
    He was an enrolled agent certified to represent clients before the Internal Revenue Service and a member of multiple accounting professional business associations, including the Pennsylvania Society of Accountants, Tax and Accounting Professionals, and the National Society of Accountants. He was also a member of the Greek Catholic Union, the former Mount Carmel Elks Lodge 356 and the Ashland Elks Lodge 384.
    He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Denise (Klacik) and Dennis Klinger, of Dornsife; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kimberly Klacik, of Maryland; a stepdaughter-in-law, Carol James, of Danville; a sister-in-law Jean (Flessatti) Koty, of Trevorton Road; grandchildren Merissa (Klinger) and Patrick Rosenella, Jessica (Klacik) and Dwayne Jones, Thomas, John Thomas, Joseph Thomas, Ava and Olivia Klacik, Jackie (James) and Rob Pasqua, and Justin James; and great-grandchildren, Alexander and Brianna Rosenella, Dwayne and Dylan Jones, and Maria and Vincent Pasqua.
    Along with his parents, wife and siblings, Tom was preceded in death by a stepson, Edward James.
    The family wishes to extend sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village for the many years of outstanding, loving, dedicated care they all provided and to the Rev. Mykola Ivanov, of Transfiguration Church, for his endless years of visitation and excellent spiritual support.
    KLACIK - Thomas Klacik, 90, a former resident of Trevorton Road, Shamokin, and Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a walk-through visitation will be held form 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Robert Foust Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. Graveside services with military honors will immediately follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Coal Township. Participants are kindly asked to adhere to CDC guidelines by wearing a mask and maintaining the recommended social distance. Tom was a selfless man who greatly loved his family, heritage, religion and church. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church, 303 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin 17872, would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements are by Foust Funeral Home, Trevorton.

    COAL TOWNSHIP - Esther M. Klacik, a former resident of Trevorton Road, entered eternal peace on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019.
    She was born in Danville RD 5 to the late Arthur and Anna (Valorz) Flessatti.
    Esther was a graduate of Danville High School and a 1956 graduate from the school of nursing as a licensed practical nurse. Her professional career spanned decades of outstanding, dedicated, compassionate nursing care to all the patients she served.
    Her employment included the Danville State Hospital as a psychiatric nurse for nine years, Mansion Nursing Home as a nursing supervisor for 19 years and private duty geriatric nursing services.
    She was a member of Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic Church in Shamokin, as well as a former member of the Pennsylvania Nurses Association, the Practical Nurses Club of Northumberland County, Sunbury Hospital Auxiliary and Northumberland County Sheriff's Association.
    Esther is survived by Thomas Klacik, her husband of 60 years; a sister, Jean Koty, of Trevorton Road; a daughter and son-in-law, Denise (Klacik) and Dennis Klinger, of Dornsife; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Kimberly Klacik, of Maryland; a daughter-in-law, Carol James, of Danville; grandchildren, Merissa (Klinger) and Patrick Rosenella, Jessica (Klacik) and Dwayne Jones, Tommy Klacik, Jackie (James) and Rob Pasqua, Justin James, and John, Joseph, Ava and Olivia Klacik; great-grandchildren, Alexander and Brianna Rosenella, Maria and Vincent Pasqua, Dylan and Dwayne Jones Jr.
